To upgrade Essence Extraction to Professional in AION 2, reach 50 Essence Extraction mastery, gather one Splendent Ruby (Bound) by extracting Ruby in a region listed for your faction, then turn it in to your faction’s Artisan Essence Extractor: Alzirr for Asmodians or Korius for Elyos.
Meet the mastery requirement
Reach Essence Extraction mastery 50 to take the Professional upgrade quest. The quest record separately lists character level 45 as recommended; that is not the profession mastery requirement. AION 2 Gaming Tools’ Asmodian quest record and Elyos quest record list the mastery gate.

Gather Splendent Ruby for your faction
The quest objective is one Splendent Ruby (Bound). Extract Ruby nodes in a region listed for your faction, and check that the item you obtain matches the bound Splendent Ruby objective before returning to the NPC.

Turn in the item and claim the upgrade
- As an Asmodian, take the Splendent Ruby (Bound) to Alzirr. As an Elyos, take it to Korius.
- Complete the specialty quest with the faction’s Artisan Essence Extractor.
The quest records list an Essence Extraction Upgrade: Professional item and a bound Artisan Essence Extractor Artwork decoration among the rewards.
