How to spend skill points on your VOLTA player
- Play VOLTA SQUADS or VOLTA BATTLES to earn skill points. EA identifies these as the modes that award points for attribute upgrades in its FIFA 23 VOLTA guide.
- Open the VOLTA avatar or player customization area and use its skill-point allocation screen to improve your attributes. EA’s guide does not give button-by-button menu directions, so the exact path and inputs can vary by platform or interface.
- Choose which attributes to improve in line with how you want your created player to perform. The points described here apply to that avatar; the guide does not document allocating them to individual AI teammates.
Choose a Signature Ability for your play style
Signature Abilities are a separate way to shape your player. EA lists four options in its guide:

- Boomer Shot: a shooting boost.
- Overdrive: a speed boost.
- Enforcer: a physical and defending boost.
- Take Flight: an aerial and flair-shooting boost.
Choose the ability that complements the role you want to play—for example, Overdrive for a speed-focused approach or Enforcer if you want a physical, defensive presence.
Keep attribute points separate from seasonal rewards
FIFA 23 has several progression systems, and they do different jobs. VOLTA SQUADS and VOLTA BATTLES award the skill points used for avatar attributes. VOLTA ARCADE is listed as a source of Season XP and seasonal rewards, not as a source of those attribute skill points.

Seasonal event progression is shared between VOLTA and Pro Clubs. EA’s August 2022 Pro Clubs and VOLTA deep dive describes Seasonal Points toward gear and VOLTA Coins in relevant cases. Seasonal event rewards must be claimed manually from inside VOLTA FOOTBALL. These systems do not replace the skill points used for VOLTA attribute upgrades.

If by “team” you mean your created player, the skill-point route above is the documented attribute upgrade method. If you mean the other players in your squad, EA’s FIFA 23 guide explains squad formats and composition but does not describe using these skill points to upgrade teammates.
