On PC, press Shift+Tab to enter or leave first-person camera mode in The Sims 4. Move the mouse to look around, use the arrow keys to switch the Sim you control, and press Ctrl to recenter the view toward that Sim’s gaze.

How to use the view
Enter and exit first person
While playing on PC, press Shift+Tab to toggle the camera into or out of first-person mode.
Look around and recenter
Move the mouse to look around independently of the Sim’s gaze. Press Ctrl when you want the camera to face the direction the Sim is looking.

Switch Sims and interact
Use the left or right arrow key to change which Sim you control in first person. The left mouse button interacts with the world; the right mouse button can select across a doorway, wall, or floor to move between rooms or floors. Hold Shift to control the mouse cursor in this view.
Adjust the field of view
Turn the mouse wheel to change the field of view. The forum guidance suggests this can be useful if the view feels uncomfortable, but it does not establish that changing the field of view prevents or treats motion sickness.

What console players should know
Console support for first-person mode and a console shortcut are not confirmed by the available references. EA’s console setup and controls help covers general controls rather than documenting a first-person toggle. Its May 30, 2023 controls update recommends enabling Show Controls Legend under Game Options > Other; it says the overlay can be opened with L3 on PlayStation or L on Xbox. That overlay can help identify console controls, but it does not confirm first-person availability.
