In an enhanced version of GTA 5, both rideable attractions at Del Perro Pier can be experienced from a first-person perspective, but they do not offer the same camera freedom. The Ferris Whale lets you switch between first-person and cinematic views while it is moving. The Leviathan roller coaster is more restrictive and does not let you change the camera view during its run.
To try first person, travel to Del Perro Pier, walk to either ride’s entrance, accept the boarding prompt, and use your platform’s first-person/camera-view control after you are seated. If the view feels uncomfortable, adjust the first-person options under Pause Menu > Settings before riding again.

Quick procedure
- Go to Del Perro Pier, on the west side of Los Santos.
- Choose the Ferris Whale or Leviathan entrance and walk close enough for the boarding prompt to appear.
- Accept the prompt to board. The fare is charged in Story Mode when the ride starts.
- Once seated, press the control mapped to first-person or camera view on your platform. The Xbox Game Help manual describes the action as: “To enter First Person Mode, press the first-person button.”
- On the Ferris Whale, press the camera control again to cycle between first-person and cinematic angles while the wheel moves.
- On the Leviathan, expect the camera to remain locked during the coaster run; the game does not provide the same in-ride camera switching.
Button names and assignments differ by platform, controller layout, and edition. If the command does not work, open Pause Menu > Settings > Controls and inspect the active mapping rather than guessing from another platform’s instructions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhere the rides are and how to reach them
Both attractions are at Del Perro Pier, the amusement area on Los Santos’s western shoreline. You do not need a separate attraction menu: approach the physical gate for the ride you want, then use the boarding prompt shown by the game.

Ferris Whale
The Ferris Whale is the large observation wheel. Its slow rotation gives you time to look over the pier, beach, ocean, and city skyline. The ride guide used for the Story Mode fare lists the price as $8. That is a guide-reported Story Mode amount; the available material does not establish that the same price applies to every edition, mode, or future update.
Leviathan
The Leviathan is the roller coaster at the same pier. Its faster movement and drops make the view more motion-intensive than the Ferris Whale. The same Story Mode guide reports a $15 fare. Treat that figure as a Story Mode guide value, not as a universal price for every version of the game.
Using first person on the Ferris Whale
The Ferris Whale is the easiest attraction for testing the feature because its camera can be changed after the ride begins.

- Use the first-person/camera-view command shown for your active control scheme.
- Remain in first person as the wheel rises, or press the same camera control to cycle to a cinematic angle.
- Cycle again whenever you want to compare the close, character-level view with the wider ride presentation.
The first-person view places the viewpoint inside the gondola rather than showing the whole character from behind. The cinematic option is useful when you want a broader shot of the wheel and pier. Because the wheel moves slowly, it is a practical place to confirm that the control is mapped correctly and to adjust comfort settings without the rapid changes of a coaster.

Using first person on the Leviathan coaster
Board the Leviathan in the same way, but do not expect the Ferris Whale’s camera behavior to carry over. The ride guide reports that the game does not let you change camera view during the coaster ride. In other words, a camera button that works on the wheel may appear to do nothing once the Leviathan run is underway.
If you want to test first person on the coaster, select the view your edition allows before boarding or at the point where the game presents its camera control. Once the run has started, a locked view is normal behavior rather than evidence that your controller is broken. The available documentation does not establish identical pre-ride behavior for every legacy platform, so the on-screen prompt and your edition’s control mapping take priority.
Set up the camera before you ride
Rockstar’s settings guidance places camera options in the Pause Menu’s Settings tab. Make changes before boarding, then return to the ride if you need to compare the result.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →First Person On Foot Field of View
This setting controls how wide the first-person view feels while you are walking. A wider field of view shows more of the pier and surroundings at once; a narrower view can feel less visually busy. It affects your on-foot viewpoint, so it is worth setting while standing near the attraction before you board.

Look and aim sensitivity
Adjust look or aim sensitivity if turning the camera feels too slow or too abrupt. Sensitivity is a control preference rather than a ride-specific setting, so a value that feels comfortable while exploring the pier may also affect normal gameplay.
First Person Head Bobbing
Head bobbing adds movement to the first-person camera as your character moves. If the viewpoint feels tiring or unstable, reduce or disable this effect where your edition provides the option. The ride itself still supplies motion; removing extra camera movement can make the scene easier to watch.
First Person Ragdoll
This option controls the camera behavior associated with ragdoll movement in first person. It is not a way to unlock the Leviathan’s ride camera. Change it only if you also want different first-person behavior during falls or impacts elsewhere in the game.
First Person Combat Roll
This setting changes the camera treatment when your character performs a combat roll. It has no special Ferris Whale or Leviathan function, but it belongs to the same group of first-person comfort controls.

Independent camera modes
Rockstar specifically describes Allow Independent Camera Modes as a way to use different views on foot and in vehicles. With independent modes enabled, you can keep first person while walking and use third person in vehicles, or reverse that arrangement. This is useful if you want to approach Del Perro Pier in one view and experience the attraction in another without changing the setting each time.
Find the correct camera button on your platform
There is no single button label that can safely be applied to every controller. The official Xbox manual uses the phrase “first-person button,” while the actual assignment can vary with platform and custom layouts.
- Open the pause screen.
- Select Settings.
- Open Controls and review the camera or first-person entry for the active device.
- If you are already inside a vehicle, use the vehicle control display available through the game’s control information to confirm the current mapping.
- Return to the ride and press that mapped command after boarding.
Do not assume that a guide written for an Xbox controller uses the same face button, stick click, keyboard key, or custom binding on your system. If you changed the layout, the in-game mapping is the authoritative reference.

Ferris Whale versus Leviathan
| Feature | Ferris Whale | Leviathan |
|---|---|---|
| Location | Del Perro Pier | Del Perro Pier |
| Ride type | Observation wheel with a slow, elevated view | Roller coaster with faster motion and drops |
| Story Mode fare | $8, as reported by the retrieved ride guide | $15, as reported by the retrieved ride guide |
| Camera switching during the ride | First-person and cinematic views can be switched while it moves | The game does not let you change camera view during the coaster run |
| Best use for testing first person | Confirming the camera button and tuning comfort settings | Experiencing a more motion-heavy ride after choosing an allowed view |
The important difference is not the location or the boarding process; it is the camera lock during the Leviathan’s run. A successful camera change on the Ferris Whale therefore does not guarantee that the same command will work on the coaster.

- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
What to do when first person will not appear
No boarding prompt
- Move directly to the ride’s gate rather than stopping on the surrounding pier.
- Confirm that you are at the Ferris Whale or Leviathan entrance at Del Perro Pier, not merely near another pier attraction.
- Wait for the character to reach the interaction point and check for the prompt again.
The camera button does nothing on the Ferris Whale
- Pause and verify the assignment under Settings > Controls.
- Check whether a custom controller layout changed the first-person command.
- Press the mapped command only after the character is seated; the boarding state can matter.
- If the control works on foot but not on the wheel, leave the ride and re-enter after confirming the mapping.
The camera will not change on the Leviathan
This is expected during the coaster run according to the ride guide. The Leviathan has more restricted camera behavior than the Ferris Whale, so repeated presses are unlikely to unlock a new view once the ride has started.
The view feels uncomfortable
- Lower or raise First Person On Foot Field of View until the perspective feels natural.
- Adjust look and aim sensitivity if camera movement is too slow or too sharp.
- Reduce First Person Head Bobbing if extra movement is distracting.
- Review the ragdoll and combat-roll camera options if similar discomfort occurs during normal gameplay.
- Use independent camera modes when you prefer first person on foot but third person in vehicles, or the reverse.
Edition and platform limitations
The official material available for this feature documents enhanced versions of GTA V and includes an Xbox manual. It does not provide a complete edition-by-edition compatibility matrix. First-person mode is documented for supported enhanced versions on foot and in vehicles, but you should not assume that every legacy release has identical camera controls, labels, or ride behavior.
Use the version-specific prompts and control page in your installation as the final authority. The distinction between the Ferris Whale’s switchable camera and the Leviathan’s in-ride restriction is documented for the ride behavior described above, but the evidence does not establish that every old platform exposes the same controls in exactly the same way.
