You can’t download the PlayStation App itself for Windows 10. Sony’s PlayStation App is for supported iOS and Android devices. If you want to stream and control a PS4 or PS5 from a Windows PC, download Sony’s separate app, PS Remote Play.
Is there a PlayStation App for PC?
No. Sony’s PlayStation App FAQ answers “Is there a PlayStation App for PC?” with “No, there is no PlayStation App for PC.” The mobile app is intended for supported iOS and Android devices, not Windows 10. Avoid unofficial downloads claiming to be the Windows version of the PlayStation App.
If you want the mobile app
Install it from the official Apple App Store or Google Play listing on a supported mobile device. Sony’s US page lists iOS 14.0 or later and Android 8.0 or later. A PlayStation account is required; some features also require a PS4 or PS5 and an internet connection, and available content may vary by region.
If you want to use your console from Windows
Use PS Remote Play, Sony’s separate Windows app for streaming and controlling a PS5 or PS4 over a network.

What you need for PS Remote Play on Windows 10
Sony’s current PC and Mac support guide, accessed October 8, 2026, lists these Windows requirements. They are Sony’s published specifications, not an independent compatibility test.
- Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11
- A seventh-generation Intel Core processor or later
- At least 100 MB of available storage and 2 GB of RAM
- A display resolution of 1024 × 768 or higher
- A sound card and a USB port
You also need a PS5 or PS4, the PlayStation account used on that console, updated console system software, a suitable network connection, and a supported controller connected to the PC by USB. Sony names DualSense, DualSense Edge, and DUALSHOCK 4 controllers. Voice chat requires a microphone; the PC’s built-in microphone can be used.

How to install and connect PS Remote Play
- Check your PC. Confirm it meets Sony’s listed Windows, processor, memory, storage, display, sound-card, and USB requirements.
- Update your console. Install the latest system software on the PS5 or PS4 you plan to use.
- Enable Remote Play on the console. On PS5, open Settings > System > Remote Play > Enable Remote Play. On PS4, open Settings > Remote Play Connection Settings > Enable Remote Play. Sony also instructs PS4 users to activate the console as the primary console for the account.
- Download and install the Windows app. Get PS Remote Play from Sony’s official PC and Mac support page, run the installer, and follow the on-screen instructions. The same app connects to PS5 or PS4.
- Connect a supported controller. Use a USB cable to connect a DualSense, DualSense Edge, or DUALSHOCK 4 controller to the PC.
- Sign in and select your console. Open PS Remote Play, choose Sign In, and use the same PlayStation account as on the console. Select PS5 or PS4 when prompted.
- Pair manually if discovery fails. Keep the PC and console on the same network. On PS5, select Pair Device; on PS4, select Add Device. Enter the number displayed by the console in the PC app.
Network guidance and using Rest Mode
Sony recommends upload and download speeds of at least 5 Mbps as a standard, and at least 15 Mbps in both directions for best performance. These are recommendations, not a guarantee of a particular image quality or connection. Actual results depend on the network and conditions.
To start Remote Play while the console is in Rest Mode, enable the console settings that keep it connected to the internet and allow it to be turned on from the network. The setting paths can differ between PS5 and PS4, so follow the console-specific instructions in Sony’s support guide. Test Remote Play near the console first; Sony notes the PC or Mac may not find a console if it has been some time since you last signed in.
