Yes. PlayStation VR2 works with SteamVR on a Windows PC through Sony’s PlayStation VR2 PC adapter (model CFI-ZVP1) and a separate DisplayPort 1.4 cable. A standard PC USB-C port is not Sony’s supported connection method. PC support opens access to SteamVR games, but it does not include every PS5 headset feature.

What you need to use PS VR2 on PC

Sony’s supported setup requires the headset, its Sense controllers, the CFI-ZVP1 PC adapter, and a DisplayPort 1.4 cable purchased separately. The PC must have a standard DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort output. Sony says DisplayPort video over USB-C is incompatible with the adapter.

The adapter box includes the adapter, AC adapter, AC power cord, and manual; it does not include the headset, controllers, or DisplayPort cable. Sony’s UK product page listed the adapter at £49.99 when accessed on September 27, 2026; check Sony’s local product page for current regional pricing. Sony’s June 2024 announcement gave estimated launch prices of $59.99 in the US, €59.99, and £49.99. Sony’s announcement and the UK adapter product page identify the product and launch-era pricing.

Check whether your PC meets Sony’s requirements

These are Sony’s manufacturer-stated minimum specifications, announced June 3, 2024, rather than independent performance benchmarks. Individual SteamVR games may need more powerful hardware.

#1 Best Overall
PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2)
  • PlayStation VR2 Sense technology: Eye tracking. Headset feedback. 3D Audio. Highly intuitive controls – Haptic Feedback, Adaptive Triggers and Finger Touch Detection
  • Cutting-edge performance
  • 4K HDR visuals
  • 110º field of view
  • Advanced graphical rendering
Component Sony’s stated requirement
Operating system Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit
Processor Intel Core i5-7600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100; the AMD processor must use Zen 2 or later architecture
Memory 8 GB RAM or more
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or later, with Turing or later architecture; NVIDIA RTX series; AMD Radeon RX 5500XT or later; or AMD Radeon RX 6500XT or later
Recommended graphics for best performance NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or later, or AMD Radeon RX 6600XT or later
Video connection DisplayPort 1.4, using a standard DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort output
USB Direct connection to a USB 3.0 Type-A port; do not use a hub or extension cable
Bluetooth Bluetooth 4.0 or later for Sense controllers

Confirm the exact GPU model and video output on your computer: a card meeting the graphics requirement still needs a compatible DisplayPort connection. Sony cautions that not all Bluetooth adapters work properly, so Bluetooth 4.0 or later on paper does not guarantee every adapter will pair reliably. Sony’s PC requirements and feature announcement and PC usage support page provide the official requirements and setup guidance.

Connect PS VR2 and set up SteamVR

  1. Install the software. On the Windows PC, install Steam, SteamVR, and the PlayStation VR2 App. A Steam account and a qualifying Windows PC are required.
  2. Connect the adapter to the PC. Plug the PC adapter directly into a USB 3.0 Type-A port. Do not connect it through a USB hub or extension cable, which Sony warns may cause malfunction.
  3. Connect the video cable and power. Use a separate DisplayPort 1.4 cable to connect the adapter to the PC’s standard DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort output. Attach the supplied AC adapter and power cord to the PC adapter.
  4. Connect the headset. Connect the PS VR2 headset to the adapter, then follow the instructions shown in the PlayStation VR2 App.
  5. Pair the controllers. Pair the left and right PS VR2 Sense controllers through Windows Bluetooth settings. If pairing fails, check that Bluetooth is enabled and that the adapter is direct-connected; Sony does not guarantee every Bluetooth adapter will work properly.
  6. Launch a game through SteamVR. Start SteamVR and choose a compatible VR title. Check that game’s own PC requirements as well as the headset requirements.

Sony’s PS VR2 PC setup support page and adapter setup guidance cover the connection and preparation steps.

What works on PC, and what is different from PS5

Sony says PS VR2 retains 4K visuals at 2000 × 2040 pixels per eye, a 110-degree field of view, finger touch detection, see-through view, foveated rendering without eye tracking, and 3D Audio in supported games when used on PC.

Some headline PS5 features are unavailable on PC. Sony lists HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback beyond basic rumble as unsupported. PC 3D Audio uses SteamVR audio technology; PS5 uses Tempest 3D AudioTech. The feature differences matter most if you rely on eye tracking or the headset’s richer haptics in PS5 games. Details are in Sony’s PC support announcement.

Which SteamVR games can you play?

PC support gives PS VR2 access to compatible titles in SteamVR’s library, but the headset adapter does not make every PC game VR-compatible. Sony cited Half-Life: Alyx, Fallout 4 VR, and War Thunder as examples in its June 2024 announcement. Check each game’s current Steam listing, regional availability, and system requirements before buying; Sony’s examples reflect the announcement, not a guarantee of present availability or performance.

Is the PC adapter worth it?

The adapter is most useful if you already own PS VR2 and want to play SteamVR titles on a compatible Windows PC. It is a less compelling route if your priority is the full set of PS5-specific features Sony says PC does not support. Your decision also depends on whether your PC has the required DisplayPort output and can meet the headset and game requirements.
