Find them throughout missions, destroy them to collect the resource, then visit Daphrona—first encountered in Mission 3, Forgotten Temple (Embars Ruins)—and choose Soulstone Unleash. You can also reset Soulstone Unleash in versions covered by the game’s April 4 update.
What Soulstones do
Soulstones are an upgrade resource, not just environmental objects. Spending them through Daphrona’s Soulstone Unleash menu unlocks character bonuses. Guides identify Lacrima gain, health recovery, and Max Spirit increases among the options, but they do not establish a complete, current list of bonuses or costs. Check the menu in your game for the choices and requirements available to your character.

Where to spend Soulstones
Daphrona first appears during Mission 3: Forgotten Temple (Embars Ruins). After that mission, she relocates to The Crevice, where you can continue to use Soulstone Unleash.
- Progress through Mission 3, Forgotten Temple (Embars Ruins), until Daphrona is available.
- Speak with Daphrona and select Soulstone Unleash.
- Review the available bonuses and their requirements, then choose based on your current build and needs.
The game’s official April 4 patch notes state, “Added a feature to reset Soulstone Unleash,” and also note an alert in Daphrona’s menu when an unleash is available. The notes identify Steam version 496652, PlayStation 5 version 01.003.034, and Xbox Series X|S version 1.1.3.34. See the official patch notes for the update details.

How to find and collect more
Explore mission spaces for glowing red crystals. Some are off the main route or placed where a direct melee attack cannot reach.
- Check side passages and elevated ledges rather than following only the main path.
- Look around destructible barriers and other obstructed areas.
- Destroy nearby crystals with a weapon. For distant stones, guides describe using a javelin or throwable projectile.
Once mission selection is available from The Crevice, mission icons show the total Soulstones in a mission and how many you have collected, according to PC Gamer’s guide. Use those counts to spot incomplete missions, then revisit and search overlooked routes. Map Master’s location guide reports that collected stones do not respawn on replay, so replaying is useful for finding missed ones, not farming duplicates. The same guide reports 100 Soulstones in total and says collecting them all unlocks the Agent of the Netherworld trophy; treat both details as guide-reported rather than official documentation.

Choosing an unleash
There is no universally best bonus established by the available guides, and they do not provide a complete current upgrade table or cost schedule. Compare the live options in Daphrona’s menu with what your build needs—for example, the guides mention Lacrima gain, health recovery, and Max Spirit—and decide from the bonuses and requirements shown in your game.
