If your server cannot meet the official API’s IP requirements, RoyaleAPI documents a proxy route, but check that the proxy and its guidance are still current before relying on it.
Start with Supercell’s official API
Supercell’s Clash Royale developer portal is the official entry point for building experiences with game data. Open the portal and follow its live instructions for creating a key and making requests. Keep the key on a server or other private backend rather than embedding it in publicly distributed client code; that is standard API credential security practice.
The portal’s current details matter. Its accessible landing page describes the service, but does not establish current key approval rules, quotas, endpoint coverage, authentication headers, or production-use terms. Check those in the live portal rather than assuming a limit or copying instructions from an old example. Whether access is free, and any conditions attached to it, should also be confirmed there.
Choose a request route

- Create an API key through Supercell’s official portal.
- Allowlist the proxy IP shown in RoyaleAPI’s guide:
45.79.218.79. - Change the request host from
https://api.clashroyale.com/tohttps://proxy.royaleapi.dev, keeping the versioned path.
For example, the guide maps https://api.clashroyale.com/v1/players/%23C0G20PR2 to https://proxy.royaleapi.dev/v1/players/%23C0G20PR2. The guide is third-party operational documentation, and its IP address or service availability may have changed. Verify both before building a production dependency on it. The proxy is distinct from RoyaleAPI’s former public API; it routes requests to Supercell’s official API rather than reviving that retired service.
Do not follow instructions for RoyaleAPI’s retired public API
RoyaleAPI’s archived Getting Started documentation says its public API was sunset on March 1, 2020, and directs developers to Supercell’s official API. For current Clash Royale game data, begin at Supercell’s portal; treat the proxy as a separate, potentially changeable third-party route.
