To use Tumble Climb in R.E.P.O., buy and unlock the upgrade at the Service Station, press Q near a wall, then hold left-click when the cursor turns blue and pull the mouse toward yourself. Climbing costs stamina; repeat the grab higher on the wall to gain more height.
How to unlock Tumble Climb
Tumble Climb is not available by default. Buy the upgrade at the Service Station when it appears, then use the upgrade once to unlock the move, according to Destructoid’s guide and 山丸ゲーム小屋’s guide. The guides do not give a reliable current price or a complete account of shop availability, so check the Service Station in your game.
How to climb a wall
- Move close to a wall or other reachable surface.
- Press Q to enter Tumble or Tumble Launch mode.
- Watch the cursor. When it turns blue, a surface is within reach.
- Hold left-click and pull the mouse toward yourself to grab and climb.
- To continue upward, aim at a higher point and repeat the grab-and-pull. The mouse movement can feel reversed: move the mouse down to pull yourself up, as described by 山丸ゲーム小屋.
These controls are reported by secondary game guides, not official documentation. Key remapping or game updates may change the exact inputs or behavior.
Stamina, upgrade levels, and timing
Tumble Climb consumes stamina. Destructoid’s November 2, 2025 guide estimates about eight seconds of climbing with base stamina of 40; treat that as one guide’s approximate figure, not a guaranteed duration for every character, upgrade level, or game version. 山丸ゲーム小屋 says stamina is consumed proportionally, so raising maximum stamina does not itself extend climb time. That guide describes Tumble Climb upgrade levels as making climbing faster and reducing stamina use, but neither guide provides a version-verified table of per-level values.

When to use it
Think of Tumble Climb as a situational traversal or recovery move, rather than a way to climb every surface safely. Starting the move leaves you exposed during its delay, and the climb spends stamina. Hadley Vincent of Destructoid characterizes it as useful when there is nothing to stand on or when you need to avoid falling into a pit. When deciding whether to buy or upgrade it, weigh that occasional traversal or fall-recovery benefit against stamina use, start-up exposure, and the upgrade’s in-game cost and availability.
