The broadcast is now available on demand. Gamescom Opening Night Live began at 11 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. CT / 2 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. BST, but organizers did not announce an exact time for the Black Ops 7 segment.
When was the Black Ops 7 reveal?
The worldwide reveal took place during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 19, 2025. It delivered the first major gameplay presentation for Black Ops 7.
This was not the first public mention of the game: an initial cinematic teaser appeared during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 8, 2025. Gamescom was the larger worldwide reveal and gameplay-focused presentation. Xbox Wire covered the earlier showcase.

The full archive may contain the entire Opening Night Live presentation rather than only the Black Ops 7 segment. If you are avoiding spoilers, look for an official isolated reveal clip where available.

What viewers expected before the event
Before the presentation, the main unanswered questions concerned the campaign, Multiplayer, Zombies, release date and platforms. Not every mode was guaranteed to receive equal coverage.

Fans expected more information about the near-future 2035 setting, David “Section” Mason, Raul Menendez, the Guild and the city of Avalon. Cooperative campaign play was also a major question.
Multiplayer
Likely reveal topics included maps, movement, modes, weapons and whether Omnimovement would return. The relationship between the 2035 setting and Multiplayer design was another open question.

Black Ops 7 is set in 2035 and follows events from Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 6. The campaign stars David Mason and brings Raul Menendez back into the story, with the Guild and Avalon playing important roles. The connected campaign supports solo play or cooperative play with up to four players.
Multiplayer launched with 16 6v6 maps and two 20v20 maps. The reveal also introduced Skirmish, a large-scale 20v20 mode with wingsuit movement, plus an evolved Omnimovement system. Wall Jump was added, Combat Roll was available in Skirmish, and Tactical Sprint was removed by default.
Zombies also returned with Round-Based Zombies, Survival Maps and Dead Ops Arcade 4. The story involves the Dark Aether and alternate versions of the original Zombies crew.

The game released on November 14, 2025, for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox PC, Battle.net, Steam and cloud platforms. Call of Duty: NEXT was not the Gamescom reveal. It was a later deep-dive event scheduled for September 30, 2025, at 9 a.m. PT, covering Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, developers and beta information.
The documented viewing rewards—including the COD NEXT Emblem, COD NEXT Calling Card, BO7 Charm and Twitch-linked Open Beta early access—belonged to that September event, not the August Gamescom presentation. Rewards required linked accounts and were subject to regional and eligibility restrictions. Call of Duty published the Call of Duty: NEXT details.
