In the United States, WNBA League Pass is best for out-of-market games and replays, but local and national broadcast blackouts mean it does not show every game live. Check the WNBA schedule for the game’s listed outlet, then use the League Pass blackout checker for your ZIP code before choosing a subscription or TV service.
How can I watch WNBA games?
Start with the specific matchup, not a service’s general claim of league coverage. WNBA games are distributed across national broadcasters and streaming services, local outlets, and League Pass. The right option depends on the game, your market, and whether you want to watch live or later.
- Find the matchup on the official WNBA schedule and note its listed broadcaster or streaming outlet.
- Check the League Pass blackout checker with your ZIP code to see whether it is available live in your location.
- If the game is blacked out on League Pass, confirm access with the named national or local outlet. If it is not blacked out, League Pass may be the simpler way to watch it.
- Before subscribing to a live-TV bundle, confirm that it carries the required channel in your market and includes the specific game’s outlet.
| Option | Best fit | Main limitation | What to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| WNBA League Pass | Out-of-market live games, broad league coverage, and replays | Local and national live blackouts apply in the US | Game availability for your ZIP code |
| National broadcast or streaming outlet | Following a game listed on a national outlet | Games are spread across different distributors | The outlet named for that game and your access to it |
| Local broadcast or regional outlet | Following a local team’s locally distributed games | Availability depends on market and local rights | Schedule listing and local coverage |
| Live-TV streaming service | Watching particular broadcast channels through a bundle | No universal bundle is established as carrying every WNBA game | Channel lineup, market coverage, and the exact game |
| League Pass through Prime or Sling | Subscribing through a platform you already use | Viewing stays within the platform used to subscribe | Country availability and platform access |
What does WNBA League Pass include?
The WNBA describes League Pass as a service for live and on-demand viewing. Its listed features include full-game replays, classic games, enhanced controls, up to three simultaneous devices, and selected Spanish-language feeds. Supported platforms include web, mobile, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku. Features, purchase routes, and availability can differ by country; consult the WNBA League Pass page for current details.
In the US, local and national rights limit live availability. The WNBA’s blackout guidance names outlets including ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, Disney+, CBS, Paramount+, NBC, Peacock, USA Network, and Prime Video; the distributor list can change. Check the schedule for the current game rather than assuming a channel or service carries the whole league.

Why aren’t games being televised?
A game may not appear on a national broadcast because not every matchup is assigned a national outlet. The WNBA FAQ says: “Not all games are intended to be nationally televised (similar to other sports with a number of games at or above that of the WNBA).” Some games may instead be available through local distribution or League Pass, depending on your location and the game’s rights. The schedule is the place to check the listed outlet.
How do League Pass blackouts work?
United States
Nationally televised games named in the WNBA’s blackout guidance are unavailable live on League Pass in the US. Their on-demand replay becomes available at 6 a.m. ET the next day. Locally televised games are also blacked out live according to viewer location; the replay becomes available shortly after the game ends. Use the League Pass blackout checker with your ZIP code to verify local availability.

Canada and other countries
The WNBA says games are available live on League Pass in available countries except the US and Canada, where local and national blackouts apply. In Canada, games carried by TSN, SN, CTV, and CTV2 are blacked out live and made available afterward. These outlet lists are subject to change.
League Pass is listed as globally available except in countries and territories identified by the WNBA, including Belarus, China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, and specified Ukrainian regions. Check the official League Pass help and availability information for your country and purchase route.

Does the subscription platform affect where I can watch?
Yes. A League Pass subscription purchased through Amazon Prime is usable only through Prime apps and the Prime website; it does not provide sign-in access to WNBA.com or the WNBA app. The WNBA documents a US monthly League Pass option through Sling as well, and that subscription is accessible only through Sling platforms. The Prime route is documented for certain countries, so check current regional availability before purchasing.
Direct WNBA subscriptions are described as monthly or annual. The support page says monthly subscriptions renew every 30 days and annual subscriptions renew on the purchase anniversary unless cancelled. In-app and connected-TV purchasing options vary. Check the WNBA purchase page for current prices, terms, and availability rather than relying on an old price.

How to choose without paying for the wrong service
- For a single game, use the schedule and blackout checker first; then subscribe only to the outlet that carries it if needed.
- For out-of-market games and replays, consider League Pass, while checking which games are blacked out live where you live.
- For a local team, confirm local distribution and market coverage for each game you care about.
- For a live-TV bundle, verify both the channel lineup and the game’s actual listing. A bundle carrying one WNBA outlet does not establish that it carries every game.
- If subscribing through Prime or Sling, make sure you are comfortable watching through that platform rather than WNBA.com or the WNBA app.
