To zoom while using Iris in Minecraft, install a separate zoom mod that supports your Minecraft version and mod loader. Iris loads shaders; its official materials do not document a built-in gameplay zoom key. One compatible option is Simple Zoom: hold C, then scroll the mouse wheel while holding it to adjust magnification.
What you need to know about Iris zoom
Iris is a shader loader integrated with Sodium, not the zoom control itself. Its official project repository describes shader support but does not document a built-in gameplay zoom key. To add zoom, use a separate client-side mod that matches your Minecraft version and loader.

How to zoom with Simple Zoom

Check the Simple Zoom listing for your Minecraft version and mod loader before downloading. Its currently listed loader support includes Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge, and the project is marked client-side. The listed Java Edition versions include 26.1–26.3, 1.21.9–1.21.11, 1.20–1.20.1, and 1.19.2; support may change, so use the listing as the current reference.

Install Simple Zoom in the same client mod setup as Iris. According to its listing, the server does not need the mod.

In Minecraft, hold C to zoom. While keeping it held, scroll the mouse wheel to change the magnification. Releasing the key resets the game to its default zoom.

If another action already uses C, open Options > Controls > Key Binds > Simple Zoom and assign a different key.

These are alternatives rather than mods to stack together. Check the current project page for exact version and loader support before installing, and use one zoom mod at a time to avoid overlapping keybinds or behavior.

Choosing and troubleshooting a zoom mod
- Match the exact game version and loader. A mod listing for a nearby Minecraft version or a different loader does not establish compatibility with your setup.
- Check for a key conflict. Simple Zoom and Far Out Zoom both list C as their default; rebind the zoom action if another control uses that key.
- Use only one zoom mod. Multiple zoom mods can compete for the same key or alter zoom behavior.
- Confirm the mod is in the client installation running Iris. Simple Zoom is marked client-side and says the server does not need it.
