A UFC women’s flyweight title fight is scheduled for five rounds, and the championship weigh-in limit is 125 pounds. A finish can end the bout before the full schedule; if it goes to the judges, they score it round by round using the 10-point must system.
What does the 125-pound limit mean?
Women’s flyweight is UFC’s 125-pound division. For a title fight, 125 pounds is the championship limit: each athlete must weigh at or below it at the official weigh-in. It does not mean both fighters must weigh exactly 125 pounds. UFC describes a one-pound allowance for non-title bouts, which does not apply to the championship limit. See UFC’s weight-class explainer.

How many rounds is a UFC women’s flyweight title fight?
UFC championship bouts are scheduled for five rounds; UFC event coverage distinguishes them from other bouts, which are scheduled for three. That is the maximum planned format, not a promise that all five rounds will happen. A knockout, submission, or other finish can end a fight earlier. UFC’s women’s flyweight title records include both earlier-round finishes and decisions after five rounds. UFC event coverage and UFC athlete records show these formats in practice.
How do judges score a fight?
If the bout lasts to the final bell, judges score the rounds under the 10-point must system and the applicable judging criteria in the Unified Rules. Ordinarily, the judge gives the round winner 10 points and the opponent fewer; deductions or unusual rounds can affect a score. Judges score each round rather than awarding a winner from one overall impression. The UFC overview of the Unified Rules explains the system and notes that fouls may result in a referee-imposed penalty.
#1 Best Overall
The broad UFC overview does not provide enough detail to state a precise hierarchy or weighting for every judging criterion. A particular event is also subject to the rules and oversight applicable to its athletic commission, so the overview is not a substitute for event-specific regulations.

When judges’ scorecards determine the result, the decision label describes how their cards line up. It is not a different scoring system.
Rank #2
- Unanimous decision: All judges select the same fighter as the winner.
- Split decision: The judges are divided between the fighters, with enough cards for one fighter to win overall.
- Majority decision: Two judges select the same fighter, while the third scores the bout a draw.
- Draw: The scorecards do not produce a winner. A draw may be unanimous, majority, or split, depending on how the cards are recorded.
