Does the horror game actually record you through the webcam?
Camera access alone does not establish that footage is recorded, saved, or uploaded. Those are separate questions, and the cited information does not establish The Sinkhole’s camera storage or transmission practices. Before granting access, check the individual game’s privacy information for what is processed, whether anything is retained, and whether data leaves your device.

Will your webcam feed appear on stream?
The Sinkhole’s developer warns that the camera feed appears during the game’s calibration scene and recommends hiding that scene when streaming. Plan for that screen before starting a broadcast or recording; the warning concerns the visible feed during calibration and does not explain how camera data is otherwise handled.
What to check before trying a webcam horror game
- Camera requirement: Is access required, optional, or limited to a specific mode?
- What the camera controls: Does it read head movement, hands, face or eye movement, or something else?
- Privacy details: What does the developer say about processing, saving, and transmitting camera data?
- Setup and streaming: Does calibration show the feed on screen, and could it appear in a recording or broadcast?
- Compatibility: Which operating systems and camera requirements does the developer document?
- Alternative controls: Is a non-camera mode available? Confirm this with the developer rather than assuming one exists.
Player comments on The Sinkhole page include individual reports of camera-detection problems, difficulty with the controls, and concern about the camera feed while recording. These are anecdotes, not a compatibility test or evidence of a consensus.
