Beebom’s October 12, 2026 tier list puts Emergency Airhorn, Rocket Shoes and Cloak in S tier. That does not make one of them the universal best choice: Emergency Airhorn is presented as a defensive answer for Runners, Rocket Shoes as a pursuit tool for Chasers, and Cloak as a temporary stealth option with important counterplay.
This article separates the sourced ability ranking from weapon and character-build advice. The available guides rank abilities only; they do not provide a validated weapon tier list, character-build comparison, win-rate study or controlled test. Use the list as a dated editorial snapshot, then match an ability to your role, route and opponent.

Quick tier list: the October 2026 snapshot
The clearest dated ranking is Beebom’s “Huss Valley Tier List – Best Abilities Ranked,” published October 12, 2026. Beebom describes the tiers as a best-to-weakest order, but does not publish test conditions, sample sizes, win rates or a repeatable scoring method. The table is therefore an editorial recommendation, not an official ranking or independently measured performance result.

| Tier | Abilities listed by Beebom |
|---|---|
| S | Emergency Airhorn; Rocket Shoes; Cloak |
| A | Rufus’s Leash; Pocket Door; Inflatable Decoy |
| B | Big Dagger; One Hit Shield |
| C | Bowling Ball |
| D | Bear Trap |
Beebom’s own role distinction matters more than the letter beside an ability. Runners generally want escape or distraction, while Chasers want tools that close distance or stop a player. Because the S tier contains options for different jobs, asking for one universal “best ability” is usually the wrong framing.

What this list says about weapons and character builds
There is no sourced weapon comparison behind this tier list. The available pages do not establish weapon damage, range, cooldowns, character statistics, weapon synergies, recommended character combinations or a tested build order. They also do not show that a particular weapon makes an ability stronger. A weapon-and-character table would therefore create precision that the evidence does not support.
Use “build” here to mean an ability choice that fits your role, not a verified weapon loadout. If you are comparing weapons or characters in-game, record the exact mode, map, patch and ability, because those variables can change how useful an escape, pursuit or control tool feels. Do not treat the ability tiers below as a substitute for weapon testing.
How reliable is the ranking?
Beebom’s page is the strongest dated snapshot available for this question, but it remains fan/editorial content. No developer ranking, official stat sheet or primary update note was available for the mechanics discussed here. The ranking should be read as “Beebom recommends these abilities in this order as of October 12, 2026,” not as a measured probability of winning.
A fan-maintained Huss Valley Wiki page, crawled October 13, 2026, describes abilities as Gem-unlocked, equipped before a round and activated with Q. It groups practical choices broadly: movement extenders for Runners, utility for flexible use and crowd control for Chasers in suitable lanes. That page warns that placements can change after updates. Those categories are useful for thinking about a loadout, but they should not be merged with Beebom’s named tiers as though both were one verified ranking.
A separate wiki page marked updated October 9, 2026, presents an alternate Update 4 list that includes Dash Extension and Clone Replicator. Its detailed patch and performance assertions are not backed by primary material here. Treat those names as leads to check against the current in-game tooltip, not as confirmed additions to the table above.
S-tier abilities: what each one is for
Emergency Airhorn
Beebom places Emergency Airhorn in S tier and says it knocks nearby Chasers back. That makes it the clearest evidence-backed Runner pick in the list: it creates space at the moment a Chaser is close enough to threaten an escape.

The ability is most valuable when you can turn displacement into distance. Use it near a corner, doorway or route split where a knockback gives you a second movement decision rather than simply pushing the opponent into a better line. If you activate it too early, the Chaser may recover before you reach safety; if you wait until you are already trapped, the knockback may not provide enough room to change direction. Those are positioning principles, not a claim about an undocumented cooldown or range.
Emergency Airhorn is not presented as a pursuit tool. A Chaser selecting it would need a specific reason to value knockback over closing distance, and the available guide does not establish such a use case. For a Runner who wants a direct, readable panic button, however, it is the most straightforward S-tier recommendation.
Rocket Shoes
Rocket Shoes is also S tier in Beebom’s snapshot. The guide specifically says it helps Chasers close distance, so it is the strongest role-matched starting point for a player whose job is pursuit.
Think of Rocket Shoes as a tool for converting a sighting into contact. Activate it when the target has committed to a route, crossed an open lane or used an escape option, rather than spending it before you know which direction the Runner will take. A speed advantage is only useful if it shortens the route you actually need to travel; cutting a corner or predicting a turn can matter as much as the ability itself.
The source does not publish a duration, speed increase, charge count or map-by-map result. Do not attach a numerical expectation to Rocket Shoes. Judge it by whether it consistently helps you reach a Runner before they reach the next safe decision point.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCloak
Cloak completes Beebom’s S tier. The guide describes it as briefly hiding the user, but it explicitly warns that Cloak is not guaranteed safety. A cloaked player can still be hit, nearby players can see them, and using an item ends the effect.
Rank #3
- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
That limitation changes how you should use it. Cloak is strongest when concealment buys uncertainty: break line of sight, change direction, pass a likely search point or force the opponent to guess. It is weak as a button you press while standing in the opponent’s reach. Because an item ends the effect, plan the movement you need to complete before activating another item.
For Runners, Cloak can support a deliberate escape route. For Chasers, it may create an approach window, but the available guide does not claim that it guarantees an ambush or makes the user untouchable. Nearby players being able to see the cloaked user also means crowded areas can reduce its value.
A-, B-, C- and D-tier abilities
A tier: Rufus’s Leash, Pocket Door and Inflatable Decoy
Beebom places Rufus’s Leash, Pocket Door and Inflatable Decoy in A tier, below the three S-tier options but above the remaining abilities. The source material available for this article does not provide a tested comparison of their range, duration, charges or exact interactions. Their A-tier placement should therefore be read as Beebom’s judgment that they are strong alternatives, not as a measured statement about a particular matchup.

Choose among these when the in-game description matches a problem your role actually has. A Runner should look for an effect that creates escape or distraction; a Chaser should look for pursuit or control. Confirm the tooltip and activation behavior in your current version before spending Gems, especially if an update has just changed ability balance.
B tier: Big Dagger and One Hit Shield
Big Dagger and One Hit Shield appear in Beebom’s B tier. That placement says the guide considers them usable but less broadly valuable than its A- and S-tier choices. No sourced test establishes whether either one is better on a specific weapon, character or map, and no reliable numeric comparison is available.
A B-tier ability can still be the correct pick when its function fits your plan. A player who understands the exact trigger and limitation in the current tooltip may get more value from a lower-ranked option than from an S-tier ability used for the wrong role. The letter is a starting point for investigation, not a command to ignore your match conditions.

C tier: Bowling Ball
Bowling Ball is listed in C tier. The available guide does not supply enough verified mechanical detail to explain a particular route, counter or weapon interaction. Treat it as a situational experiment: identify the one action you want it to enable, test that action in a low-stakes round and replace it if the effect does not reliably solve the problem.
D tier: Bear Trap
Bear Trap is at the bottom of Beebom’s list. A D-tier placement does not prove that it is unusable in every lane; it means the guide rates it weakest overall. Since there is no controlled test or official performance data, do not convert the placement into a claim that the ability can never work. Use it only when you have a specific setup that justifies accepting the guide’s lower general rating.
Role-based ability choices
Runner loadouts
Start with the Runner’s actual win condition: survive the chase and create enough separation to reach the next safe route. The fan wiki’s broad advice favors movement extenders for Runners, while Beebom’s named S-tier options give you two clearly described defensive ideas.
- Emergency Airhorn: choose it when a nearby Chaser is the main danger. Its stated knockback effect directly addresses contact range.
- Cloak: choose it when breaking information and changing direction is more valuable than an immediate shove. Remember that you can still be hit, nearby players may see you and using an item ends the effect.
- A-tier alternatives: consider Rufus’s Leash, Pocket Door or Inflatable Decoy only after confirming which one provides escape or distraction in your current version. Their exact functions are not established by the available guide summary.
Do not automatically equip both the most popular-looking options. If your route already gives you concealment, a direct space-making tool may cover your weakness better. If you repeatedly die before reaching cover, an ability that creates immediate distance is more relevant than one that requires a long setup.
Chaser loadouts
Chasers need to turn information into contact or prevent a Runner from completing an escape. The fan wiki’s broad category is crowd control in suitable lanes, and Beebom gives one explicit pursuit recommendation.

Beebom specifically describes it as helping Chasers catch up.
- Control-oriented alternatives: inspect the current descriptions of A- and B-tier abilities for a reliable way to interrupt or constrain movement. The available sources do not verify which named ability supplies that function, so do not assume one from its name alone.
- Emergency Airhorn and Cloak: do not treat their S-tier status as proof that they are optimal for Chasers. Airhorn’s stated value is knocking Chasers back, and Cloak’s stated concealment has counterplay; both are role-dependent.
Pick the ability that addresses your failed sequence. If you reach the Runner but lose them at the final turn, seek control or route denial. If you cannot reach them at all, Rocket Shoes is the evidence-backed first experiment.

Flexible or mixed-role players
Some rounds require switching between escape and pursuit priorities. In that case, favor an ability whose function remains useful when your role changes, but verify the function rather than relying on the tier label. Cloak may support either approach, yet its visibility and item-cancel limitations make timing essential. A general utility choice can be sensible, but the wiki’s category is not a guarantee that a particular A-tier name is flexible.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose and equip an ability
The fan wiki describes a simple preparation flow: abilities are unlocked with Gems, equipped before the round and activated with Q. The exact cost and any current unlock restrictions are not established in the available material, so check the live menu rather than relying on an old price.
- Identify your role. Decide whether this round is primarily about escaping as a Runner, pursuing as a Chaser or adapting between both.
- Name the failure you want to fix. Write down one concrete problem: being caught at close range, losing a target in open space, failing to break line of sight or being unable to stop a final turn.
- Match function to failure. For a Runner facing close contact, Emergency Airhorn’s stated knockback is the clearest match. For a Chaser who cannot close distance, Rocket Shoes is the clearest match. For a route built around concealment, consider Cloak, but account for its listed counters.
- Read the current tooltip. Confirm the activation key, charges, duration and restrictions in your present game version. The published guides do not establish all of those values.
- Equip before entering the round. The fan wiki says abilities are equipped before a round; verify the selected icon in the loadout screen so you do not enter with the wrong option.
- Use the first round as a test. Observe whether the ability solves the named failure. Record where you activated it, what the opponent could still do and whether another route would have produced more value.
- Reassess after updates. The wiki warns that placements can shift. Recheck the current tooltip and recent in-game behavior whenever a balance update is released.
Practical scenarios
You are caught at a corner as a Runner
Emergency Airhorn is the most direct sourced answer because Beebom says it knocks nearby Chasers back. Save it for the moment when the Chaser is close enough that the displacement changes your route. Immediately commit to a different line; creating space without moving turns the benefit into a short delay.
Recommended Free Tools
You see a Runner cross an open lane
Rocket Shoes fits the Chaser’s stated need to close distance. Activate it when the route is known and your movement can exploit the extra approach speed. If the Runner has already disappeared behind cover, spending the effect before reacquiring them may produce less value.
You need to disappear and change direction
Cloak can briefly hide you, but it is not immunity. Nearby players may still see you, attacks can still connect and using an item ends the effect. Break line of sight first when possible, choose the new direction before activating and avoid treating the cloak as permission to stand in danger.
You want an A-tier option but do not know which one
Do not infer mechanics from the names Rufus’s Leash, Pocket Door or Inflatable Decoy. Read the live description, decide whether the effect is escape, distraction, pursuit or control, then test one ability against the failure you identified. The A-tier label tells you how Beebom rates it overall; it does not tell you which role or map automatically suits it.
Common mistakes
- Reading S tier as universal: the three S-tier entries serve different purposes. Rocket Shoes is described for Chaser pursuit, while Emergency Airhorn is described as a knockback answer to Chasers, and Cloak has a concealment role with explicit counters.
- Assuming Cloak means invulnerability: the guide says a user can still be hit, nearby players can see them and item use ends the effect.
- Inventing weapon synergy: no available source validates a weapon, character or combined build ranking. Keep those comparisons separate until you can verify them in the current game.
- Mixing wiki lists together: the post-Update 4 wiki categories and the alternate list containing Dash Extension and Clone Replicator are not confirmed extensions of Beebom’s table.
- Ignoring the date: Beebom’s ordering is dated October 12, 2026, and the wiki warns that updates can change placements. A later balance change can make an old tier label less useful.
- Buying by name alone: Gem unlocks and pre-round equipment are described by the fan wiki, but exact costs and current restrictions should be checked in the live menu.
How to keep the list current
Use the October 12, 2026 table as a baseline, not a permanent rule. After an update, check whether the in-game description, activation behavior or practical counterplay has changed. Compare your result by role: did a Runner gain a reliable escape, or did a Chaser gain a better way to close or control? Keep separate notes for each role instead of forcing one combined ranking.
When a new guide claims a precise speed, duration, damage value or win-rate advantage, look for primary patch notes or an in-game description before repeating it. The available pages do not provide official statistics, named developer statements or controlled tests. Until those exist, the most defensible conclusion is functional and conditional: choose the tool that addresses your role’s failure, then verify it in the version you are actually playing.
Bottom line for a role-based build
For a Runner, begin with Emergency Airhorn when close-range pressure is the problem, or Cloak when a planned concealment-and-redirection route is stronger. For a Chaser, begin with Rocket Shoes when distance is the problem. Treat Rufus’s Leash, Pocket Door, Inflatable Decoy, Big Dagger, One Hit Shield, Bowling Ball and Bear Trap as Beebom’s ranked alternatives, not as proven weapon or character synergies. No supported weapon-and-character tier list is available, so any such comparison should be tested separately in the current game version.
