What the ability key actually tells you
An unofficial controls reference identifies Q as “Ability.” That label confirms the input, but it does not identify which power is equipped, what the power does, how long it lasts, or when it becomes available again. Those details come from the selected loadout and the live game version. Pressing Q therefore has no single answer such as “Q always makes you invisible.” It activates the ability currently assigned to your character.

Concealment: Cloak
Cloak is a visibility tool, not invulnerability. While concealed, you may still be struck, so activating it does not make standing in an opponent’s attack path safe. Its strongest use is breaking visual tracking: turn a corner, cross an area with multiple routes, or force the Chaser to guess which direction you took.
The item interaction is equally important. Using an item ends the effect, which makes Cloak a poor choice if your immediate plan requires an item activation. Decide whether escaping sight or completing the item action has greater value before pressing Q. If you are already within reliable hit range, concealment may buy less time than moving first.
Displacement: Emergency Airhorn
Emergency Airhorn is described as a short-range, aimed blast that knocks a nearby Chaser backward. Its job is to create space or interrupt a close pursuit, not to control an entire area. You need the opponent close enough for the reported range and must aim the blast; firing it while the Chaser is far away should not be expected to help.

Because the effect changes distance rather than hiding your route, Airhorn is most naturally suited to a crisis at a doorway, corner, or narrow approach. Use it when the knockback can create a route to safety. If there is no follow-up path, pushing an opponent away may only delay the next chase.
Misdirection: Inflatable Decoy
Inflatable Decoy sends a false copy straight ahead. The copy disappears when caught, giving the Chaser an apparent target that is separate from your actual route. This is deception rather than protection: the decoy does not make your character harder to hit if the opponent continues tracking you.
A straight-running copy is easiest to read in an open area and potentially more useful where several routes branch after deployment. The available description does not establish how intelligent the Chaser must be, how long the opponent is distracted, or how often a decoy produces an escape. Treat those outcomes as situational rather than guaranteed.

What is known about cooldowns
No reliable, current per-ability cooldown table is established by the available references. The controls page labels Q but does not publish effect, cooldown, or unlock rules in the game description it checked. Another fan guide discusses cooldowns generally without providing a verifiable schedule. Community ranges should therefore not be repeated as official values.

Cooldown behavior may also depend on details that are not documented publicly, such as whether the timer starts on activation, after an effect ends, or after an interrupted use. Do not assume that two abilities with similar effects recharge at the same rate. Until a live-game panel or developer-owned source gives a value, describe a power as “available again when its cooldown completes” rather than assigning seconds.
How to check a cooldown in your current game
If you need a number for your own loadout, record it in the live game instead of relying on an old guide. This procedure measures what your current version displays; it is not a substitute for a published balance table.
- Open the current shop or loadout and note the ability name, role, and any cooldown text shown in its description.
- Enter a low-risk match or practice situation where you can see the ability icon and timer clearly.
- Activate the ability once and start a stopwatch at the moment the game accepts the input. If the game rejects the input, record that separately rather than treating it as a cooldown.
- Watch for the icon, progress ring, or text to return to a usable state. Record whether the timer begins immediately or only after the effect finishes.
- Repeat the observation several times under the same conditions. Note interruptions, item use, hits, round transitions, and role changes, because any of them could alter the result.
- Compare your observation with the value currently displayed in-game before sharing it. Label the result with the date and game version, since a later update can change it.
How to think about synergies
The reviewed material does not verify combo mechanics, cooldown chaining, or measured win-rate improvements. The ideas below are therefore hypotheses for situational play, not proven combinations. Test whether the game permits the sequence you want before calling it a supported combo.
Cloak with a route change
A plausible use is to change direction while hidden, especially after breaking line of sight. The concealment only helps if you also move; remaining where the opponent last saw you leaves you vulnerable to a hit. Because item use ends the effect, plan the route first and delay item activation until the escape decision is complete.

Airhorn at a bottleneck
Airhorn may be useful when a Chaser is close and a backward push opens a doorway, corner, or alternate lane. The key question is not “Can I knock the opponent back?” but “What space does that knockback buy?” If there is no safe destination, the ability may merely reset the chase at a slightly different distance.
Decoy at a branch or sightline
A decoy may draw attention when the false runner can be seen heading toward one route while you take another. This is a strategy to try, not a documented guarantee. The copy’s straight path and eventual pop are known limitations, so open corridors with no branch may offer little deception.
Sequential use is unverified
It is tempting to describe a sequence such as sending a decoy, then activating Cloak, or using Airhorn before another escape tool. The sources do not establish whether those effects can be used together, whether one cancels another, or whether their timers overlap. Role, roster, and version uncertainty
The dated inventory identifies Cloak, Emergency Airhorn, and Inflatable Decoy as Runner abilities. That does not prove that they are the complete Runner roster today, nor does it establish the current Chaser list. A separate guide gives a different set of Runner and Chaser abilities, while a broader meta guide proposes movement, utility, crowd-control, and niche categories and uses examples such as Radar Pulse, Clone Replicator, and Size Shift. For that reason, avoid statements such as “this is the best build,” “every Runner has these three choices,” or “the meta requires ability X” unless the current game itself supports them. Role eligibility, unlock conditions, and names can change independently of the Q binding.
Costs and purchase decisions
The reported shop prices are digital in-game purchase figures, not a recurring subscription or a measured value of performance. The three examples are listed in both Gems and Robux, but no evidence establishes how currency conversion works, whether the prices are promotional, or whether the abilities can also be unlocked through ordinary play. Check the live shop for regional display, current pricing, and unlock requirements before spending.

How to keep an ability guide current
Before relying on any Huss Valley ability recommendation, check five fields in the same live version: the ability name, eligible role, effect text, cooldown display, and unlock or price information. Record the date of the check. If a fan guide disagrees with the in-game panel, the panel is the more relevant evidence for your match.
Updates can change more than numbers. A power may move between roles, receive an item interaction, gain a different duration, or disappear from the shop. A guide that accurately described the game on 3 October 2026 can still become stale after a patch. Treat every exact value as version-specific unless a current developer source says otherwise.
