The company named two large-scale MMORPG projects as investor-interest drivers, but the announcement offered no launch dates or performance results.
How much did HYBE IM raise, and who invested?
The announced round was KRW 30 billion. IMM Investment contributed KRW 15 billion as a follow-on investor; Shinhan Venture Investment and Daesung Private Equity joined as new investors. A Korean exchange filing records the share subscription agreement on March 31, 2025, for 21,456 preferred shares and approximately KRW 30 billion. The company announced the investment the following day. HYBE IM’s April 1 announcement
The announcement did not disclose a company valuation, ownership dilution, or investor return rights, so the round’s terms cannot be assessed from the amount alone.
What does HYBE IM plan to do with the money?
HYBE IM said it intends to reinforce global publishing, marketing, operational optimization, and localization. The stated goal is to improve the prospects of its publishing titles and support stable live-service operations. These are planned uses, not evidence that the funding has already produced particular releases, audience growth, or operating improvements. HYBE IM’s April 1 announcement
#1 Best Overall
The emphasis matters: the raise was not framed solely as financing for games based on HYBE artists. The company also positioned it as investment in the capabilities needed to publish and operate games for a global audience.
Which games did the company highlight?
HYBE IM connected investor interest to two projects it described as large-scale MMORPGs:

- Project Torch (working title)
The April 2025 announcement did not provide release dates or performance data for either title. It also does not establish their later release status, so the projects should be understood here as titles cited at the time, not as confirmed launches. HYBE IM’s April 1 announcement
How does the round fit HYBE IM’s publishing strategy?
HYBE’s August 1, 2024 shareholder letter described HYBE IM as established in 2022, with experience developing and launching artist-IP games. It also said HYBE IM had begun operating publishing for games made by external studios in the second quarter of 2024. HYBE’s stated plan was to stabilize and expand publishing before bringing out a wider range of games, including in-house IP projects, from 2025 onward. That letter records a plan at the time; it does not by itself verify which scheduled releases followed. HYBE’s August 2024 shareholder letter

Examples of the existing slate cited in 2024 coverage include the artist-IP games Rhythm Hive and BTS Island: In the SEOM, alongside publishing deals for Oz Re:write and Knight of Veda. Korea JoongAng Daily, August 6, 2024
HYBE IM president Wooyong Chung described the ambition as moving beyond IP-based games to become a “next-generation game publisher” offering compelling content to gamers worldwide. That English wording is a translation of the Japanese statement published with the April 2025 announcement. HYBE IM’s April 1 announcement

How does the 2025 round compare with the 2024 investment?
HYBE IM’s announcement also referred to an August 2024 strategic investment agreement valued at USD 80 million. It said total funding, including the new KRW 30 billion, reached KRW 137.5 billion based on actual investment amounts and accounting for foreign-exchange fluctuations. Because the company’s cumulative figure reflects exchange rates and actual proceeds, the nominal USD 80 million and KRW 30 billion should not be added together to produce a supposedly exact total in dollars. HYBE IM’s April 1 announcement
| Funding reference | Stated amount | Strategic context |
|---|---|---|
| August 2024 agreement | USD 80 million | Strategic investment agreement; the April 2025 announcement referenced it in describing funding history. |
| March 31 / April 1, 2025 round | KRW 30 billion | Global publishing, marketing, operations, localization, and the potential to expand games using HYBE artist IP. |
| Total raised as reported in April 2025 | KRW 137.5 billion | Company-calculated total based on actual investment amounts and foreign-exchange fluctuations, not a simple sum of the two headline figures. |
What the funding does—and does not—show
The investment signals that the company and its backers are emphasizing publishing and service execution alongside artist-IP game opportunities. It does not establish that the named MMORPGs have launched, that the planned operational investments have succeeded, or that HYBE IM’s game business has reached a particular revenue level.

HYBE’s 2024 consolidated revenue and licensing figures provide parent-company context, not evidence of HYBE IM’s results. HYBE reported KRW 2,255,649 million in consolidated revenue for 2024, including KRW 420,229 million in MD and licensing revenue (18.63% of the total). Those figures cover HYBE as a whole and should not be attributed to HYBE IM or game publishing. HYBE 2025 first-quarter business report, Korea Exchange KIND
