In the available guides and item listings, White Clay in Hytale refers to a smooth white variant crafted at a Furniture Bench—not a confirmed raw resource you can mine. The listed recipe uses 2 Clay and 1 White Petals ingredient. A February 17, 2026 location guide says ordinary Clay can be gathered in Emerald Grove or Howling Sands, while White Petals come from white flowers along Emerald Grove riverbanks. The sources do not confirm whether raw White Clay naturally spawns in the current game build.
Where do you find White Clay in Hytale?
The cited crafting recipe makes the smooth white variant from ordinary Clay and White Petals. It does not call for raw White Clay, and the available sources do not establish a natural spawn location for raw White Clay. The location information below is for ordinary Clay, not a claim that White Clay blocks occur in the same places.

Gather ordinary Clay in Emerald Grove
A location guide updated February 17, 2026, reports Clay along Zone 1 riverbanks and underground in caves. It describes riverbanks as the faster route: Clay blocks are mixed with dirt near the water. This zone is also where the guide locates the white flowers used for White Petals.
Gather ordinary Clay in Howling Sands
The same guide reports Clay on Zone 2 canyon walls and rocky formations, often exposed for collection without extensive digging. It identifies this as a Clay source only; it does not report White Petals there.

Where do White Petals spawn?
The February 17, 2026 guide says White Petals can be gathered from white flowers near riverbanks in Emerald Grove (Zone 1). Since the crafting recipe needs this ingredient as well as Clay, Emerald Grove is the most convenient route described by that guide when you need materials for the white variant.
How do you craft smooth white clay?
Use a Furniture Bench. The Hytale Tools item database lists the result as Clay Smooth White, while the location guide calls it White Clay – Smooth. A separate item page labels the petal ingredient “White Petals” rather than “Plant Petals White.” These names describe the same listed recipe inputs in the cited pages.

Hytale Tools also lists ordinary Clay as craftable at the Furniture Bench from 4 Red Sandstone, offering another ingredient route if that recipe is available in your version. The listed smooth white recipe uses ordinary Clay and white petals; it does not say that naturally found raw White Clay can be smoothed directly.

The location guide also recommends the material for decorative building, describing its bright, neutral look. That is aesthetic advice; the recipe outputs above are the database’s reported uses.
Why raw White Clay locations are uncertain
The guide’s headline and some prose say “White Clay,” but its crafting instructions refer to “White Clay – Smooth.” The item database names the result “Clay Smooth White” and gives the identifier Soil_Clay_Smooth_White. Taken together, these sources support a crafted smooth variant, but do not verify a naturally occurring raw White Clay item or its location in the current build.

This distinction matters because Hytale is still update-sensitive. Hypixel Studios described the January 13, 2026 Early Access release as “unpolished and incomplete” and said bugs were expected (official Early Access announcement). Official Update 4 notes discuss additional Smooth Clay blocks and continued blockset integration, but do not identify White Clay spawn locations. The item database pages do not name a specific game version, so treat their recipe details as reported data rather than a guarantee for every build.
