Separately, an update to I Expect You To Die 3’s Steam version moves its VR support to OpenXR and the game to Unity 6. That update also changes how players recenter their view.
Are I Expect You To Die 2 and I Expect You To Die 3 Steam Frame Verified?
Yes. Schell Games identifies both games as Steam Frame Verified, and its announcement says the trilogy has received verification. The studio’s portfolio page also lists Steam Frame Verified for I Expect You To Die 2 on Steam.
That status concerns the games’ Steam versions. It should not be read as a statement that the standalone Quest versions have changed.
What changed in I Expect You To Die 3?
Schell Games’ update applies to the Steam version of I Expect You To Die 3. It says that version now uses OpenXR for Oculus/Quest and SteamVR headsets, and has been updated to Unity 6. Windows Mixed Reality support is available through the Oasis driver on Steam.

The update also mentions performance improvements and improved particle visual effects, but supplies no frame-rate measurements or quantified performance results. It lists additional fixes and adjustments:
- Visibility adjustments for the diving helmet on high-field-of-view headsets.
- Objects held in the mouth are lowered.
- Fixes to pneumatic-tube capsule physics and to socketing in the pin and motherboard puzzles.
- Audio fixes for car windows and a fix for a vending-machine coin issue.
How do you recenter after the update?
The Steam update says to recenter using the headset’s own view-reset function rather than a game-specific control. The control depends on the headset:

These instructions are for the updated Steam version. The announcement does not describe a corresponding change to recentering in the standalone Quest build.

The Steam announcement establishes the OpenXR, Unity 6, headset-support, recentering and listed gameplay changes for the Steam version of I Expect You To Die 3. It does not establish that standalone Quest builds were migrated to OpenXR or Unity 6, nor does it report benchmark results. The Steam Frame Verified status for the two games is a separate compatibility announcement.
