GamesRadar+ hardware editor Duncan Robertson reports that he used Steam Frame to play Big Walk with friends while away from his gaming PC. In his single evening session, the game ran on low settings, a Bluetooth controller worked without issue, and he had to plug in after about an hour. His “Steam Deck on my face” line is an analogy for playing Steam games on a headset—not a claim that Steam Frame and Steam Deck are technically equivalent.

Can you play Big Walk on Steam Frame away from your PC?

Robertson’s October 2, 2026, GamesRadar+ hands-on report describes connecting Steam Frame to Wi-Fi, pairing a controller over Bluetooth, and starting Big Walk at about 9 p.m. He says the game ran “flawlessly on low settings” in that session. He and his friends played until around 12:30 a.m., with Robertson plugging in after about an hour because of battery drain.

That is an account of one play session, not a measured performance or battery test. It shows what Robertson experienced in those circumstances; it does not establish typical battery life, performance across games, or guaranteed Steam Frame compatibility.

Why Big Walk suited a remote headset session

Big Walk is a cooperative adventure from House House, published by Panic. Steam lists its release date as August 4, 2026, and describes a game built around exploration, puzzles, teamwork, and talking. Its listing supports online co-op and cross-platform multiplayer for 2–12 players.

The game’s proximity voice system changes how clearly players can hear one another depending on distance and walls. Robertson says that feature helped the remote session work smoothly. He had not managed to get Discord running on Steam Frame at the time of his report, so the game’s built-in voice chat mattered; that is a time-specific account, not evidence of a permanent software limitation.

What “a Steam Deck on my face” means—and what it doesn’t

Robertson’s phrase captures the appeal he found in using a headset as a personal screen for regular Steam games. He says Steam Frame runs Steam games natively and argues that this gives it a second role beyond VR: displaying non-VR games on a virtual large screen. He compares that kind of viewing to PSVR 2’s cinematic mode.

It is a description of the experience, not a technical comparison between Steam Frame and Steam Deck. The report does not establish that the devices share capabilities, performance, controls, or battery life. Robertson also says he tried less demanding games, including Towerfall Ascension and Hades, and that they ran well. His expectation that demanding AAA games might struggle is speculation, not a verified benchmark.

What Steam’s PC requirements can—and can’t—tell you

Steam’s Big Walk store listing provides Windows and macOS system requirements. For Windows, the minimum listed configuration includes Windows 10, 12 GB of RAM, and a GTX 750 Ti / Radeon R7 370 / Intel Arc A380-class GPU; the recommended configuration includes Windows 11, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1070 / Radeon RX 5600 XT / Intel Arc A750-class GPU.
