The main reason to pay more is the application system. A good alignment tray makes it easier to position the glass over the display and reduces the chance of wasting a protector through a crooked installation. The glass also aims to preserve the Switch 2’s original sharp image while its oleophobic surface limits visible smudges.
dbrand lists Prism 2.0 as a two-pack for $34.95 and gives it a claimed Mohs hardness rating of 7. That rating is a manufacturer specification, not a guarantee against every scratch or impact. It also should not be directly compared with the 9H pencil-hardness claim used by Spigen and other brands.
Buy it if: you want the most complete premium package and value easy alignment. Skip it if: you only need basic scratch insurance and do not want to spend roughly $35.

Best value and glare control: Belkin TemperedGlass Anti-Reflective
Belkin’s TemperedGlass Anti-Reflective is the better fit for handheld players who regularly use the Switch 2 under ceiling lights, near windows, or outdoors. TechRadar reported easy alignment, good adhesion, low reflectivity, and resistance to a key-scratch test.
Rank #2
- Ultra-clear High Definition with 99.9% transparency to allow an optimal, natural viewing experience.
- Ultra thin-0.3mm thickness is reliable and resilient, and promises full compatibility with touchscreen sensitivity.
- Ultra thin-0.3mm thickness is reliable and resilient, and promises full compatibility with touchscreen sensitivity.
- The premium tempered glass screen protector is highly durable and scratch-resistant with a 9H surface hardness, while also reducing fingerprint residue.
- Specifically designed for Switch 2 7.9 Inch 2025 New Release.
Belkin listed the protector at $24.99 in the US, with another page showing a temporary lower sale signal. That makes it cheaper than Prism 2.0 at the listed prices, although the pack contents and current price should be checked before ordering.
The trade-off is optical character. Anti-reflective glass can make the display more comfortable in bright conditions, but it may not look quite as crisp or visually neutral as clear glass. Do not confuse Belkin’s anti-reflective model with its blue-light-filter version: blue-light filtering changes the display’s optical output and is not the same thing as reducing reflections.

Best clear protector: Spigen GLAS.tR EZ Fit
Spigen GLAS.tR EZ Fit is the logical clear-glass alternative for readers who want an established accessory brand and an alignment tray. Spigen advertises an oleophobic coating and compatibility with its Liquid Air case. It also uses the familiar 9H designation, which should be treated as a claimed specification rather than a scientific promise of indestructibility.
Clear tempered glass is usually the safest optical default: it preserves sharpness and color better than a textured matte coating. Spigen’s official listing showed a $39.99 price signal, so it may be poor value if a cheaper two-pack offers similar real-world installation and adhesion.
Rank #3

T3 selected Spigen for its own Switch 2 and described amFilm as a cheaper, thinner-glass alternative. That is one reviewer’s experience, not a universal laboratory ranking.

Best budget route: amFilm or a reputable multipack
amFilm’s Auto-Alignment OneTouch is a sensible budget candidate because an alignment system addresses the most common failure: installing the protector off-center or trapping dust beneath it. Nintendo Life included amFilm among its Switch 2 recommendations.
Budget multipacks can be good value when you expect to replace a protector after scratches or a cracked corner. Calculate the price per protector rather than comparing package prices. A cheap protector is not a bargain if it has poor adhesive, no dust-removal tools, or an installation system that produces repeated failures.
Availability and pack contents vary by retailer, so verify the exact Switch 2 model, number of protectors, included tray, and return policy before buying.
Best for bright rooms: matte or anti-reflective protection
Choose a matte protector only when reflections are genuinely disruptive. Matte and anti-glare coatings scatter reflected light, but they can also introduce haze, grain, sparkle, or a less crisp appearance—especially around small text and high-contrast graphics.

JSAUX Anti-Glare is a lower-cost matte candidate, with a two-pack sale signal of $11.99 and a regular signal of $15.99 in the supplied pricing pass. Belkin’s anti-reflective model is the more established mainstream choice, while JSAUX’s Obsidian AR model is a possible clear anti-reflective compromise. Vendor claims alone are not enough to establish that either is optically superior.
For the sharpest image, choose clear glass. For strong overhead or outdoor light, accept some possible texture in exchange for fewer reflections.
Best official option: HORI Screen Protective Filter
HORI’s Screen Protective Filter is officially licensed by Nintendo and manufactured by HORI in Japan. Licensing confirms that it is an official accessory, not that it offers the strongest scratch or impact protection.
Its film-style construction is thinner and less substantial than tempered glass. That can appeal to owners who want minimal change to the display, but glass is generally the better sacrificial surface for a console carried in bags or repeatedly placed in a dock.
Does the Switch 2 need a screen protector?
Not every owner needs one. The Switch 2 already has an anti-scattering adhesive film over the display. That factory layer is intended to help contain fragments if the glass breaks; it is not the same as a conventional scratch-protection layer.

Do not peel off the factory film just because you are applying another protector. Nintendo’s guidance says to leave it in place, and the added protector should normally be installed over it unless its specific instructions say otherwise.
A protector is best understood as inexpensive insurance against scratches, fingerprints, and surface wear—particularly if you travel with the console, dock it frequently, or carry it in a bag. It does not make the Switch 2 drop-proof or guarantee that the display will not break.
Glass, film, matte, and blue-light filters explained
- Tempered glass: thicker, glass-like, and generally better suited to resisting everyday abrasion and serving as a replaceable sacrificial layer.
- Protective film: thinner and less visually intrusive, but usually less substantial than glass.
- Clear glass: normally the best option for sharpness, color, and minimal visual change.
- Matte or anti-glare glass: reduces reflections but may add texture or haze.
- Anti-reflective glass: attempts to reduce reflections without the full texture of a matte coating.
- Blue-light-filter glass: changes the display’s light spectrum; it is not a substitute for anti-glare protection.
How to install a Switch 2 screen protector
- Work in a clean, low-dust room.
- Wash and dry your hands, then turn off the console.
- Clean fingerprints, dust, and dirt from the display.
- Use the supplied dust-removal stickers before exposing the adhesive.
- Leave the factory anti-scattering film in place.
- Use the alignment frame if one is included.
- Lower the protector slowly and evenly.
- Push ordinary air bubbles toward an edge with a microfiber cloth.
- If the protector is misaligned, use tape to lift it from a corner and realign it.
- Wait before fitting a tight case, then inspect the edges again after 24–72 hours.
These steps follow Nintendo’s application guidance. A normal air bubble may migrate out; a dust bubble will usually remain until the protector is lifted, and an adhesive gap or case-induced edge lift will not be fixed by repeatedly pressing the center.

What to check after installation
- Alignment: the glass should sit evenly within the display area without covering sensors or leaving an obviously uneven border.
- Adhesion: corners should remain flat after docking, case installation, and removal.
- Touch: test tapping, swiping, typing, dragging, and multi-touch gestures.
- Optics: inspect small text and dark scenes, both with the screen on and off.
- Accessories: test the official dock, your case, grips, and travel case rather than assuming “edge-to-edge” compatibility.
Spigen advertises compatibility with its Liquid Air case, and Belkin says its protectors fit with charging cases, grips, and travel cases that hold the console by its body. Those are vendor claims; compatibility can still vary with the exact accessory combination.
Protectors to approach cautiously
Snakebyte’s protector is a defensible skip based on TechRadar’s reported experience. The review described a lack of a proper alignment guide, persistent bubbles, fingerprints, and a corner that lifted more readily than Belkin’s. That does not prove every unit will fail, but installation and edge behavior are too important to overlook when alternatives offer better guidance.
More broadly, do not rank a protector by “9H,” “bubble-free,” or “military-grade” language alone. Pencil-hardness ratings are not the same as Mohs mineral hardness, and neither establishes drop protection. Look for repeatable evidence about installation, adhesion, touch response, and surface condition.
Quick Recap
Which Switch 2 protector should you buy?
- Buy dbrand Prism 2.0 for the strongest premium all-round package and easiest alignment.
- Buy Belkin TemperedGlass Anti-Reflective if reflections are your main problem or you want a cheaper mainstream alternative.
- Buy Spigen GLAS.tR EZ Fit if clear optics and a familiar installation system matter most.

- Choose matte JSAUX or another matte model only if glare is more irritating than the possible loss of crispness.
- Choose HORI if official Nintendo licensing and a thin film matter more than maximum glass protection.
