Nintendo celebrates Mario Day as MAR10 Day on March 10. In the official Nintendo material reviewed, there is no established National Luigi Day and no announced official date for one. Any date suggested for Luigi should be treated as a fan-created idea, not a Nintendo observance.
What is Mario Day?
Nintendo calls its Mario celebration MAR10 Day, a play on the spelling of “Mario.” Its March 5, 2026 announcement identifies March 10 as MAR10 Day. The announcement’s events and promotions were specific to 2026; they should not be assumed to recur in later years.
Nintendo also has a Mario events page describing celebrations and events for the franchise. The official material reviewed does not announce a separate National Luigi Day.
Is there an official National Luigi Day?
No official date is established in the Nintendo sources reviewed. That is narrower than saying nobody has ever proposed an informal Luigi-themed day: a fan or another organization could suggest one, but that would not make it an official Nintendo observance.

- This is a high-quality plush that would make any 8-bit gamer proud.
To assess a date you encounter, check who announced it, where it is observed, and whether the announcement describes a recurring annual event. Without an official announcement, call it a fan-created suggestion rather than National Luigi Day as a settled fact.
How can you celebrate Luigi?
You can mark the day informally by playing a game that puts Luigi in the spotlight. Nintendo’s 2024 MAR10 Day announcement included Luigi’s Mansion 3 among games featuring Mario and friends. That makes it one optional Luigi-themed activity—not evidence of a separate observance, and not a purchase requirement.
