Inco and Privy announced a partnership on May 9, 2024 to help developers build non-custodial Web3 applications and games as Telegram Mini Apps. Inco contributes confidential-computing infrastructure based on fully homomorphic encryption (FHE); Privy contributes onboarding and embedded self-custodial wallets. Telegram is the distribution environment, not necessarily a contractual partner in the announcement. The arrangement is intended to make hidden-information game mechanics practical on-chain, but it is not a guarantee that every Telegram game is secure, private, audited, cheat-proof or legally approved.
GamesBeat’s report was updated June 18, 2025, so this is a reported 2024 partnership and technical demonstration—not a new August 2026 product launch.
The three-part stack

The announcement described products built for deployment inside Telegram, rather than confirming that Telegram operated Inco’s cryptographic layer or formally co-signed the commercial deal. The original report is at GamesBeat, with a press-release account at Crypto Reporter.
Why confidentiality matters in blockchain games
Public blockchains make transactions and state verifiable, but that transparency is a problem when a game depends on secrets. A visible card hand, hidden role, secret word, private resource balance or unrevealed move can give another player an unfair advantage.

FHE is designed to let a system perform calculations on encrypted information and return an encrypted result without exposing the underlying data during computation. In a game, that could mean evaluating a concealed variable or move while revealing the result only under the rules chosen by the developer. It addresses a specific hidden-state problem; it does not replace sound contract design, secure randomness, key management or client security.
What FHE may hide—and what it does not
- Selected encrypted inputs and computations can remain concealed until an intended reveal.
- Wallet addresses, transaction timing, public outcomes, chat participation and other metadata may remain visible.
- FHE cannot correct a payout bug, bad authorization rule, compromised account, malicious bot or flawed oracle.
What Privy contributes
Privy’s SDK was presented as a way to onboard users and provision embedded self-custodial wallets without requiring a browser extension such as MetaMask. The goal is an experience closer to a conventional app while allowing users to control signing authority rather than placing all player assets in a developer-operated custodial wallet. Privy’s developer terms describe its wallets as self-custodial and state that Privy does not store or have access to wallets, private keys or assets, subject to the exact product configuration; see Privy’s terms.

Self-custody shifts responsibility to the user and the application design. Device loss, failed recovery, social engineering, deceptive signing prompts and Telegram-account compromise can still result in loss. Privy’s current architecture materials discuss techniques including Shamir’s Secret Sharing and Trusted Execution Environments, but those current descriptions should not automatically be treated as a specification of the 2024 demo. How Telegram Mini Apps change distribution
Telegram Mini Apps are web applications launched within Telegram through bots or app links. GamesBeat cited HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React as suitable technologies. A user can open a game from a chat without installing a separate native application, share it with a group and receive bot-driven interactions. That makes the format attractive for casual, social and turn-based games.

The trade-off is a browser-like runtime and dependence on Telegram’s policies, account security and platform limits. Mini Apps are not automatically suited to console-scale 3D rendering or high-frequency real-time play. Telegram’s developer documentation is available at core.telegram.org/bots/webapps.
The announced demonstrations
The 2024 coverage named two bots:

The demonstrations were described as using FHE for confidentiality and randomness-related mechanics. GamesBeat reported noticeable latency while trying them, an important indication that the examples were early demonstrations rather than proof of a polished mass-market service. The available announcement confirms their existence at that time, not that either bot remains operational in 2026.

Developer implementation considerations
- Build the Mini App and connect its bot launch and sharing flow.
- Add authentication and embedded wallet provisioning through Privy, defining recovery and signing permissions before launch.
- Select the chain and transaction flow, including fee sponsorship, confirmation handling and failure recovery.
- Model which game values must remain secret, then implement encrypted state and reveal rules with Inco’s supported infrastructure.
- Test latency, costs, replay protection, randomness assumptions, concurrent turns and interrupted transactions.
- Audit contracts and review Telegram-specific abuse cases, including fake bots, deceptive links and malicious signing prompts.
- Obtain legal advice before adding tokens, prizes, wagering or chance-based rewards.
The available announcement does not provide a complete, current code-level integration guide, package list, chain ID or guaranteed deployment recipe. Developers should verify those details directly with the vendors.
Where the approach fits—and where it does not

Costs and commercial realities
Privy’s pricing page, observed August 16, 2026, lists a free Developer tier with up to 500 monthly active users, 50,000 monthly signatures and $1 million in monthly transaction volume. Core is listed at $299 per month for 500–2,499 monthly active users, Scale at $499 per month for 2,500–9,999, and Enterprise at custom pricing; thresholds and usage-based charges can change. Inco is aimed at applications where confidential computation justifies added architecture and performance cost. The public material used for the partnership does not establish a current Inco pricing plan or production service-level agreement; developers should check Inco’s official site. Telegram can provide distribution without a separate download, but it does not remove blockchain fees, contract-audit costs, wallet support, bot moderation or compliance work.
Security and compliance checklist
- Verify the official bot handle, Mini App domain, contract addresses and every signing prompt.
- Document exactly which values are encrypted and which metadata remains public.
- Test recovery after device loss, Telegram-account compromise and interrupted transactions.
- Audit payout, authorization, upgrade, randomness and token-accounting logic.
- Measure confirmation delays and define user-visible behavior when transactions fail.
- Assess phishing, impersonation, bot abuse and social-engineering scenarios.
- Seek jurisdiction-specific advice for wagering, prizes, tokens, age limits, KYC, AML and consumer protection.
Alternatives to the Inco–Privy model
Centralized Telegram Mini App
A conventional server-backed game is often faster and easier to operate when on-chain ownership and encrypted state are not essential. The operator, however, becomes the trusted authority for balances and outcomes.
External wallet connectors
WalletConnect-style or browser-extension flows can suit crypto-native users and avoid building embedded recovery, but they create substantially more onboarding friction, especially on mobile.
Centralized backend with cryptographic verification
This can deliver fast matchmaking and selective proof of results while keeping blockchain settlement optional. It still requires users to trust the operator’s server and dispute process.

The Inco–Privy partnership combines three useful pieces: Telegram’s social Mini App distribution, Privy’s embedded self-custodial wallet onboarding and Inco’s attempt to keep selected on-chain game state confidential with FHE. That combination could make hidden-information games such as Hangman, card games or private-resource strategy more practical on a public chain. The 2024 demonstrations and reported latency also show why the idea should be judged as infrastructure in development, not as a blanket safety guarantee or proof of a currently available Telegram game platform.
