Where to find A Snake in the Garden
Go to Father Ventura’s office in the Apostolic Palace during the Vatican section of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The puzzle is at the bookcase in the office. The floor description differs between published walkthroughs, so use the office location rather than a floor number to find it. What the Bookcase Note means
Read the Bookcase Note near the shelves, then turn it over. The note tells you to arrange the book titles alphabetically; its reverse maps the four positions to symbols. Use the symbols to determine which book to pull at each step.

What is the book order for A Snake in the Garden?
- Francorum — crown
- Logicae — triangle
- Philosophiae — wheel
- QDD — sun
In other words, pull crown → triangle → wheel → sun. Follow the symbol order shown by the note and turn its reverse; the book titles are listed here as an additional way to identify each volume. Published guide results vary in how they spell the third title and name the final symbol, so rely on the visible labels and symbols in your game. The correct sequence opens a hidden compartment in the bookcase. PowerPyx reports that it contains 120 lire and Mussolini’s Letter; collecting the letter completes the mystery and awards 100 Adventure Points. These are in-game reward values reported by that walkthrough.
