Set the Sacred Wounds levers to left hand II, right hand II, chest III, right foot III, and left foot IV. Pour wine into the clue murals to reveal their Roman numerals, then match each numeral to the wound’s body part on the central mural.
Where to find the Sacred Wounds puzzle
The puzzle is in the Vatican Underworld beneath the Tower of Nicholas V in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. It follows the Strange Inscriptions task: photograph the inscriptions and bring them to Father Antonio, who provides wine. At the tower, pour wine into the basin at the Strange Mural, turn the mechanism according to the angel-and-devil imagery, and descend. How to solve it
- At the central mural of Jesus on the cross, pour wine into the basin to reveal the five lever controls.
- Locate the five nearby clue murals. Pour wine into each basin and note the Roman numeral it reveals.
- Match each clue mural’s depicted wound or body part to that part on the central mural, using the table above.
- Return to the central mural and set each lever to its matching numeral. The mural opens a passage deeper into the Underworld.
The wine reveals both the controls and the clues; the solution depends on matching the pictured body parts, not on the order in which you find the murals. Where to find each clue mural
- Holy Chalice: Near the central room.
- Body of Christ: Through a gated side room. The entrance can close behind you.
- Spear of Longinus: Farther along the route beyond that side room. A breakable wall provides a way back.
- Walking on Water: On the other side of the central mural.
- Anointment of Jesus: Through a narrow gap near a gated area. A nearby chain can open the gate if you want to use it.
