Bethesda’s Update 2 for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, released December 17, 2024, fixed three Nvidia-specific PC issues: DLSS-related performance problems, Frame Generation failing to activate properly with HDR, and performance problems when Nvidia Low Latency Mode was used with Frame Generation. The notes also describe a remaining one-time Frame Generation issue when HDR is first enabled, so the patch should not be read as a guarantee that every related graphics problem was eliminated.
What Nvidia issues did Update 2 fix?
Bethesda’s Update 2 release notes list three Nvidia-specific PC fixes:

- DLSS: Fixed an issue where Nvidia DLSS could cause performance problems when enabled.
- Frame Generation and HDR: Fixed an issue where Nvidia Frame Generation did not activate properly if HDR was in use.
- Low Latency Mode and Frame Generation: Fixed an issue where Nvidia Low Latency Mode could cause performance problems when used with Frame Generation.
These are Bethesda’s descriptions of problems addressed by the patch, not independent measurements of performance before and after it.

The same notes listed a known issue: Frame Generation might be temporarily disabled the first time HDR was activated. Bethesda’s one-time workaround was to disable and then re-enable DLSS. That caveat is narrower than the three fixes above, but it means Update 2 did not claim to resolve every possible DLSS, HDR, Frame Generation, or graphics-driver issue.

Update 2 covered more than Nvidia graphics
The December 2024 patch also addressed general, gameplay, graphics, mission, and Xbox problems. Examples included duplicated-frame stutter during cutscenes, a stuck near-drowning double-vision effect, save slots incorrectly reported as damaged or missing, equipment issues involving the whip and camera, a Vatican quest progression issue, and Xbox global-illumination improvements. Update 2 was a game patch, not an Nvidia driver release.
How Update 2 differs from later graphics updates
Later releases added features and fixes that are separate from Update 2’s three Nvidia-specific fixes. Bethesda’s Update 3 notes, dated February 20, 2025, introduced Nvidia DLSS 4, including Multi Frame Generation on supported Nvidia hardware and Ray Reconstruction. The update also moved DLAA and DLSS Super Resolution to a transformer-based model, added ray-traced local-light shadows for Path Tracing, and brought Path Tracing to supported AMD and Intel cards with hardware ray tracing and at least 16 GB of VRAM.

Bethesda’s official Steam announcements record still later changes. Update 8, dated May 12, 2026, enabled Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR Frame Generation during cinematics and fixed ghosting in some cinematics using HDR and Nvidia DLSS. Update 8 Hotfix 1, dated June 11, 2026, listed PC Frame Generation fixes for multi-frame-generation stutters, Ray Reconstruction noise, and visual glitches at aspect ratios other than 16:9, alongside other graphics and Path Tracing fixes.

How to interpret Nvidia’s later performance figures
Nvidia’s February 13, 2025 Game Ready Driver article reported average performance multipliers for specific RTX 50 Series configurations using DLSS Multi Frame Generation, DLSS Super Resolution, and Ray Reconstruction with full ray tracing enabled: 4x at 4K, 3.7x at 2560×1440, and 3.5x at 1920×1080. These are Nvidia’s own figures, not independent benchmarks, and they describe the later DLSS 4 feature set—not Update 2’s impact.
