Infinix did showcase flagship-level gaming technology at MWC 2024, and the company said its demonstration scored 2,215,639 in AnTuTu. But the evidence does not establish that a finalized retail phone called the Infinix GT Ultra was ever launched. The GT Ultra name came largely from secondary reports; Infinix’s own announcement described a concept platform and a plan to release a dual-core flagship gaming smartphone in 2024.
What Infinix showed at MWC 2024
Infinix’s announcement, dated February 26, 2024, covered a flagship-level mobile-gaming technology concept demonstrated at ShowStoppers during MWC 2024 in Barcelona. The platform combined a MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, Infinix’s CoolMax cooling system, Pixelworks visual-processing technology and an AI management platform.

That distinction matters. This was not presented in the official material as a conventional retail launch with a final specification sheet, price, release date and regional availability. Secondary reports, including Gizmochina’s coverage, referred to the device as the GT Ultra, while Infinix described its future product more cautiously as its first “dual-core” flagship gaming smartphone.

What does the 2.2-million AnTuTu score mean?
Infinix said the demonstrated platform achieved an AnTuTu score of 2,215,639, commonly rounded to 2.2 million. The result was attributed to the combined platform rather than presented as an independently verified score from a commercially sold phone.
That makes the exact number interesting, but not conclusive. The announcement does not specify the AnTuTu version, firmware, performance mode, memory configuration, battery state, ambient temperature, cooling setup or whether the result was repeatable. Prototype hardware can also use software optimized for a demonstration.
A peak benchmark score is not the same as sustained gaming performance. It does not by itself establish stable frame rates during a long session, battery endurance, surface temperature, fan noise or thermal comfort. The most accurate wording is therefore: Infinix says its MWC gaming concept scored 2,215,639 in AnTuTu.

Infinix identified MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 as the processor used in the demonstrated platform. MediaTek’s chip was notable for its all-big-core CPU design, while Infinix highlighted its GPU performance as part of the gaming proposition.
However, a concept platform does not guarantee the processor used in a later retail phone. Components, software and thermal hardware can change before mass production. The Dimensity 9300 should therefore be treated as a confirmed detail of the MWC demonstration, not proof of a final GT Ultra specification.

CoolMax cooling and the “up to 10°C” claim
Infinix described CoolMax as a hybrid cooling system using semiconductor or thermoelectric cooling alongside air cooling. Its explanation referenced the Peltier thermoelectric effect, which moves heat from one side of a component to another when electrical current passes through it.
Infinix claimed that CoolMax could reduce temperatures by up to 10°C under the stated conditions. “Up to” is important: it is a maximum claim, not a guaranteed reduction in every game or environment. The announcement does not publish a complete test protocol, baseline temperature, workload duration or ambient conditions.

It can add power consumption, fan noise and internal complexity, and it may concentrate heat elsewhere in the chassis. Those are engineering considerations—not confirmed defects of a GT Ultra, whose retail design was never established.
Display capabilities were teased, not confirmed specifications
Infinix said Pixelworks visual processors could support refresh rates of:
- Up to 180Hz at FHD+ resolution
- Up to 144Hz at WQHD+ resolution
These figures describe the demonstrated platform’s capabilities, not a confirmed GT Ultra retail display. A phone needs a panel capable of those rates, and the game, GPU and software must render enough frames to benefit from them. A display’s maximum refresh rate is not a guarantee that every game will run at the same frame rate.

There is also a practical trade-off. Higher refresh rates can make supported games and system animations feel smoother, but they generally increase display power consumption. WQHD+ at 144Hz is also substantially more demanding than FHD+ at 180Hz.
What did “dual-core” mean?
Infinix said it planned to launch a “dual-core” flagship gaming smartphone in 2024. That phrase should not be read as meaning the phone had a conventional two-core CPU. The Dimensity 9300 itself is an all-big-core mobile processor.
In this context, “dual-core” appears to describe a combination of the main smartphone processor with an additional gaming-focused processing or cooling architecture. But Infinix’s announcement does not define the engineering meaning precisely enough to call it a second standalone silicon processor.
The safest interpretation is that Infinix used “dual-core” as a product or platform description. Calling it a dual-CPU phone would go beyond the available evidence.
How AI was supposed to help gaming
Infinix said its AI management platform could dynamically adjust core utilization according to the workload. The stated strategy was to assign demanding tasks to more powerful cores, use less-powerful cores for lighter workloads, and balance performance, heat and energy consumption.

This could theoretically reduce unnecessary power use while preserving performance when a game needs it. But the announcement does not provide independent measurements showing how much the system improved battery life, temperature or frame-rate stability. These should be treated as Infinix’s claimed software goals, not independently demonstrated results.
Was the Infinix GT Ultra ever released?
No official retail launch has been established by the material reviewed for this article. Infinix announced an intention to launch a dual-core flagship gaming phone in 2024, but it did not provide a final product name, price, complete specifications or confirmed availability in that announcement.
Later official Infinix product pages document commercial GT-series phones such as the GT 20 Pro and GT 30 Pro, rather than a retail GT Ultra. That makes “teased,” “proposed” or “concept device” more accurate descriptions than “launched phone.”
It is also too strong to say definitively that the GT Ultra was canceled. No direct cancellation statement is established here. The defensible conclusion is narrower: the official material reviewed does not verify a commercially released GT Ultra, and no official price or retail specification sheet was located.

What about E-Color Shift, AirCharge and the other MWC concepts?
Infinix’s MWC announcement also discussed E-Color Shift, a programmable color-changing phone back; AirCharge, a magnetic-resonance wireless-charging concept; and an Extreme-Temp Battery that Infinix said could support charging at temperatures as low as −40°C.

These technologies appeared in the same broader event presentation, but that does not prove they were all incorporated into a GT Ultra. Concept demonstrations, planned products and confirmed retail features must be kept separate. In particular, readers should not assume that a future GT-series phone included AirCharge, CoolMax or the extreme-temperature battery simply because the technologies were discussed at MWC.
What can buyers actually consider?
Readers looking for a real Infinix gaming phone should evaluate documented commercial models rather than shop for an unverified GT Ultra. The official GT 20 Pro page describes a Dimensity 8200 Ultimate platform, a dedicated gaming display chip, up to 120 FPS gaming claims, a 144Hz FHD+ AMOLED display and gaming-focused cooling and software features.
The later GT 30 Pro is another official commercial GT-series model. It should not be marketed as the released version of the 2024 Dimensity 9300/CoolMax concept unless Infinix directly confirms that relationship. Prices, configurations and availability vary by country, so buyers should check the official regional page and warranty terms before purchasing.
Verdict
The MWC 2024 story was real, but it was often reported too definitively. Infinix genuinely demonstrated a high-performance gaming platform using the Dimensity 9300, CoolMax cooling, Pixelworks processing and AI management, and it reported an AnTuTu result of 2,215,639.
What the announcement did not establish was a finalized retail handset called the Infinix GT Ultra. The score was a company-reported concept result, the “up to 10°C” cooling figure was conditional, and the 180Hz/144Hz display figures were platform capabilities rather than confirmed retail specifications. For buyers, later official GT phones are the verifiable products; the GT Ultra remains an unconfirmed outcome of Infinix’s 2024 concept announcement.
