Integrated MC 1.6.8 runs on Minecraft 1.20.1 with Forge. For a dedicated server, download the separately published Integrated MC server pack, install the matching Forge server, accept the EULA on first launch, place the server-required mods in the server’s mods folder, and make the server reachable on port 25565 (or the custom port you choose). Every player must use the same Integrated MC release, Minecraft version, Forge loader, and compatible Java runtime.
Godlike.Host offers modded Minecraft server hosting with one-click modpacks, a built-in mod installer and up to three free backups a day.
The current CurseForge listing describes Integrated MC as the official pack for the Integrated Structures mods, combining exploration, quests, recipes, lore, loot, structures, terrain generation, and expanded combat. Version 1.6.8 is listed for Forge on Minecraft 1.20.1, and the project publishes Integrated_Minecraft-1.6.8_server_pack.zip. CurseForge listed 1,845,505 downloads in 2026.

What Integrated MC is and which version to install
Integrated MC is a content-heavy Minecraft modpack built around the Integrated Structures ecosystem. Its features are not limited to new blocks: world generation, exploration objectives, quest progression, recipes, lore, loot tables, structures, and combat changes all interact. That makes version matching more important than with a small client-only mod collection.
Use the Minecraft version, mod loader, and modpack release as one compatibility tuple. For the current release, that tuple is:
#1 Best Overall
- DELUXE COLLECTION — Includes Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition, three Bedrock add-ons, three exclusive Character Creator items, and 700 Minecoins.
- CREATE YOUR WORLD — Build whatever you imagine in an infinite world that’s unique in every playthrough.
- EXPLORE AND CRAFT — Discover biomes, resources, and mobs, then craft your way through a sandbox world filled with surprises.
- SURVIVE THE ADVENTURE — Face mysterious foes, travel across exciting landscapes, and venture into perilous dimensions.
- PLAY TOGETHER — Play cross-platform with friends in Bedrock Edition on console, mobile, and PC, or join community servers in Java Edition on PC, Mac, and Linux. Online console multiplayer requires a platform-specific subscription (sold separately).
| Component | Required value | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Modpack | Integrated MC 1.6.8 | The release that supplies the matching mod list and configuration. |
| Minecraft | 1.20.1 | Mods, world-generation data, and recipes are built for this game branch. |
| Loader | Forge | The CurseForge listing identifies this branch as Forge, not NeoForge. |
| Server download | Integrated_Minecraft-1.6.8_server_pack.zip |
A server-specific archive is available, so it is preferable to improvising from a client installation. |
Do not select a launcher option labeled simply latest. A newer Minecraft version, a NeoForge build, or a later Forge branch can produce missing-mod errors, loader crashes, registry mismatches, or a world that will not load. The release number shown in the launcher and on the server must be identical.
Java requirements for the 1.20.1 Forge branch
Java requirements follow the Minecraft branch, not the age of your computer or the word latest in a Java installer. NeoForged’s compatibility guidance lists Java 17 for Minecraft 1.20.2–1.20.4 and Java 21 for 1.20.5 and later. Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge belongs to the Java 17 generation, so a Java 17 runtime is the normal starting point for this pack; confirm the Forge installer and pack documentation if your distribution reports a different requirement.
On a machine with several Java installations, check the runtime that the server script actually invokes. In a terminal, run:
java -version
The major version should be appropriate for Minecraft 1.20.1. If the output shows Java 21 while the Forge installer or launch log expects Java 17, point the server script or system path to a Java 17 installation rather than assuming a newer runtime is compatible. Conversely, do not downgrade a different Minecraft branch merely because another server uses Java 17.
Server pack or client ZIP: choose the correct files
A client profile contains files intended to start Minecraft for one player. A dedicated-server pack is arranged for a headless server and may omit visual-only mods, resource-pack integrations, or client configuration that a server cannot load. Because Integrated MC publishes a server archive, use that archive for the server.
| Download | Use it for | Do not use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Integrated MC client profile or client ZIP | Installing the pack for each player’s launcher. | Blindly copying every file into a dedicated server. |
Integrated_Minecraft-1.6.8_server_pack.zip |
Creating the dedicated-server directory and its mod/config baseline. | Launching as a normal single-player profile. |
If a future release has no server pack, create a separate instance of the exact client release and use it only as a starting point. Compare its contents with the loader’s server requirements and remove client-only components according to each mod’s documentation. Never assume that a visual, HUD, shader, replay, or resource-pack feature is safe on a dedicated server.

Prepare the machine before installation
Decide whether the server will run on a home PC, a separate always-on machine, or managed game hosting. The technical requirements are the same, but the administrative work differs. Before extracting anything, collect these details:
- Integrated MC release: 1.6.8.
- Minecraft version: 1.20.1.
- Loader: Forge.
- Java runtime: the version required by the 1.20.1 Forge installation, normally Java 17.
- Server directory with write permission and enough disk space for the pack, logs, backups, and world growth.
- A firewall and router plan if players will connect over the Internet.
- A backup destination separate from the live world directory.
Give the server a stable location. Avoid running it from a temporary downloads folder or a cloud-synchronized directory that can replace files while the server is writing them. Keep the server directory separate from each player’s client profile so an accidental client update cannot overwrite server files.
Install an Integrated MC dedicated server
1. Download and extract the server pack
- Download the Integrated MC 1.6.8 server-pack ZIP published with the 1.20.1 Forge release.
- Create a new directory dedicated to this server, such as
IntegratedMC-1.6.8-server. - Extract the ZIP into that directory, preserving its folder structure.
- Do not rename mod files, edit configuration files, or combine the contents with another modpack before the first successful boot.
If the archive includes launch scripts, read them before changing them. A script may set the Java path, memory arguments, or a specific Forge launch target. Keep a clean copy of the extracted pack so you can restore a known-good baseline.
2. Install the matching Forge server
Use a Forge installer for Minecraft 1.20.1 and the build expected by Integrated MC 1.6.8. The installer must match the loader named by the pack; do not substitute NeoForge. A typical Forge server installation command has this form:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →java -jar forge-1.20.1-<build>-installer.jar --installServer
Replace the build portion with the Forge installer specified by the pack’s files or documentation. Run the command from the server directory, or provide full paths to the installer and destination. The installer should generate the Forge libraries, launch files, and server scripts. If it reports that the Minecraft version is wrong, stop and obtain the 1.20.1 installer rather than forcing the process.
NeoForge documentation shows a similar workflow with java -jar /path/to/neoforge-installer.jar --installServer. That command is an example of the installer pattern, not a reason to install NeoForge for Integrated MC’s Forge branch.

3. Perform the first launch and accept the EULA
- On Windows, run the generated
run.bat. On Linux, make the generatedrun.shexecutable and run it from the server directory. - Allow the first launch to finish its setup attempt. It normally stops before starting the world because the Minecraft EULA has not been accepted.
- Open
eula.txtand changeeula=falsetoeula=trueonly if you agree to Minecraft’s EULA. - Start the same script again and watch the console until it reports that the server is ready for connections.
Do not launch the JAR by double-clicking it if the generated script supplies required JVM arguments or a Forge classpath. The script is the reproducible launch entry point and is also the safest place to document a custom Java path or memory setting.
4. Confirm the server mod set
Put server-required mods from the server pack in the server’s mods folder. Keep the versions shipped with Integrated MC 1.6.8 unless the pack documentation explicitly authorizes an update. Remove client-only visual or resource-pack features when they are not already excluded by the server archive. A dedicated server should not try to load a mod that expects a graphics device, client key bindings, or a client-only screen.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCompare the server directory with a clean extraction if the loader reports a missing dependency. Do not fix one missing JAR by downloading an arbitrary newer file: a dependency can require a precise Minecraft, Forge, or API version. Change one file at a time and retain a copy of the original set so you can roll back.
5. Configure the network
Players on the same local network can usually connect using the host machine’s private IP address. Friends outside the home network need a route through the host firewall and router:
- Allow the Java server process through the operating system firewall, limiting the rule to the intended network profile.
- Forward the Minecraft port from the router to the server machine’s private IP address.
- Use the default port
25565unless you deliberately choose another port. - If you choose a custom port, put that port in the server configuration and give players the address in
host:portform. - Do not publish your home address or router administration credentials. Share only the connection address and port with trusted players.
Port forwarding cannot overcome carrier-grade NAT or a provider that blocks inbound connections. In that situation, use a host with a reachable public endpoint or a private networking solution that every player can join.
6. Test locally before inviting players
- Start the server and wait for its ready message.
- Launch a client with Integrated MC 1.6.8, Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge, and the same Java-compatible profile.
- Connect from the host machine using
localhost, then test from another device on the same network using the server’s private IP. - Only after those tests pass, test the forwarded public address from a network outside the home connection.
Local testing separates mod and world errors from router errors. If localhost fails, port forwarding is not the cause; inspect the server log and compatibility tuple first.

Install the matching client for every player
Each player should import the exact Integrated MC 1.6.8 profile rather than assembling mods manually. Select Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge in the launcher, then verify that the profile does not silently upgrade to another pack release. The client and server should have matching mod versions, configuration expectations, and loader family.
A player can join only after the server has finished loading the world. Give them the server address, including a non-default port when applicable. They should not copy the server’s entire directory into their client profile: server properties, world data, logs, and launch scripts belong on the server. Conversely, a client-only visual mod should not be copied to the server merely because it appears in a player’s mods folder.
Self-hosting versus managed hosting
Self-hosting avoids a recurring hosting bill and gives the operator direct control over files, Java, backups, and launch arguments. It also makes the operator responsible for uptime, security, router configuration, updates, and recovery. Managed hosting is useful when the goal is a 24/7 server without maintaining a machine and network at home, but the host must support this exact pack rather than only generic Forge servers.
| Decision point | Self-hosted server | Managed host |
|---|---|---|
| Installation | Download the server pack, install Forge, and maintain the launch files yourself. | Use a one-click modpack installer or upload the server-pack ZIP manually. |
| Java | Install and select the correct Java runtime on your machine. | Choose a Java runtime in the hosting control panel, if offered. |
| Networking | Configure the firewall, router, port forwarding, and public address. | The provider supplies a reachable endpoint; you still configure the server port and access rules. |
| Resources | Your CPU, memory, disk, and Internet connection determine capacity. | Check the allocated RAM, CPU performance, storage limits, and geographic location. |
| Backups | Create and test dated world backups yourself. | Confirm automated backup frequency, retention, download access, and rollback behavior. |
| Administration | Full file and process control, including SFTP or local shell access. | Check for file access, SFTP, scheduled restarts, console access, and version pinning. |
| Cost and exit | Hardware and electricity costs are yours; there is no hosting cancellation process. | Review the actual price, renewal terms, cancellation policy, and whether backups can be exported. |
Before purchasing a managed plan, ask support whether it can upload Integrated_Minecraft-1.6.8_server_pack.zip, pin Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge, select the required Java major version, and retain the pack’s configuration files. A generic Forge installer is not proof that the provider supports this modpack.
Backups and safe updates
Back up the world before changing the loader, the pack release, or a large group of mods. NeoForged’s server documentation states: Always backup your world before updating NeoForge or mods! The same operational rule applies to a Forge modpack: an update can alter registries, terrain generation, data packs, or entity behavior.
- Stop the server cleanly from its console; do not copy a live world while region files are being written.
- Create a dated archive of the world directory and record the Integrated MC, Minecraft, Forge, and Java versions.
- Back up server properties, configuration files, scripts, and the current
modsdirectory so the complete state can be reconstructed. - Install the update in a separate test directory when possible.
- Start the test copy, inspect the console and logs, and load a representative area before replacing the live server.
- Keep the previous server directory until players have confirmed that the updated world behaves correctly.
Pin the release instead of allowing a launcher or host panel to update automatically. When a rollback is necessary, restore the matching world and mod/config set together; restoring only the world can leave registry or recipe data from the newer release.

Troubleshooting by symptom
The server stops immediately with a Java or class-version error
- Run
java -versionfrom the same shell or script used to start the server. - Verify that the Java major version matches Minecraft 1.20.1 Forge; a Java 17 runtime is the normal baseline for this branch.
- Check that the script is not calling a different Java executable than the one shown in your terminal.
- Do not solve a loader mismatch by changing Java repeatedly. Confirm the Forge installer and Minecraft version first.
The log reports missing mods, dependencies, or registry entries
- Compare the server’s
modsfolder with a clean Integrated MC 1.6.8 server-pack extraction. - Confirm that the server is running Forge 1.20.1, not NeoForge or another Minecraft branch.
- Check whether a client-only mod was copied to the server or a server-required mod was omitted.
- Restore the original pack and add or remove one file at a time so the failing change is identifiable.
Players receive an incompatible mod list or handshake error
Have the affected player reinstall or re-import the exact 1.6.8 client profile. Compare the displayed Minecraft version, Forge build, and mod filenames on both sides. A player can have the same pack name but a different release, a manually updated dependency, or a leftover mod in the client’s mods folder. Remove unapproved extras and test again.
The server launches but nobody can connect
- Connect from the host with
localhost. - Connect from another device on the same LAN using the server’s private IP.
- If LAN works, check the operating-system firewall rule and router forwarding target.
- Confirm that the public address includes the custom port if the server is not using 25565.
- Check for carrier-grade NAT or an ISP restriction if the port is still unreachable from an external network.
The world loads, but terrain or structures look wrong
Stop the server and verify that the world was created or opened with the intended Integrated MC release and Forge branch. Do not test a generation change on the only copy of an established world. Restore the dated backup if a loader or mod update altered generation unexpectedly, then investigate the change in a separate copy.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
The server lags or runs out of memory
Inspect the console and operating-system resource usage before changing settings. Memory allocation can be adjusted in the generated JVM-argument file, but more RAM cannot repair an incompatible mod, incorrect loader, or broken Java selection. Increase allocation only within the machine or hosting plan’s available resources, leave room for the operating system, and change one variable at a time. Also check CPU saturation, disk space, scheduled backups, and other processes competing with the server.
An update causes a crash after a previously healthy boot
Restore the last known-good server directory and world backup, then compare the update’s Minecraft version, Forge build, Java major version, mod list, and configuration files. Change only one of those variables in a test copy. Keep the crash report and latest log with the failed version so a mod author or host support team can identify the first error rather than the later cascade.
Operational checklist for a reliable Integrated MC server
- Server pack and client profile both identify Integrated MC 1.6.8.
- Both sides use Minecraft 1.20.1 and Forge.
- Java is selected deliberately and verified with
java -version. - The first launch completed after
eula=truewas set. - The server’s
modsfolder contains only server-compatible files from the pack. - Players imported the same release rather than adding individual mods by hand.
- Local and external connection tests succeeded on the documented port.
- A dated backup exists before every loader, pack, or major mod change.
- Launch scripts, JVM arguments, configuration files, and world backups are stored where they can be restored.
- Any managed host has confirmed server-pack upload, Java selection, version pinning, backups, and file access.
Following this sequence keeps the difficult parts in the right order: establish the exact compatibility tuple, install the server-specific files, complete the EULA boot, make networking reachable, and only then troubleshoot performance or add-ons. Integrated MC’s current 1.6.8 release is straightforward to host when the server and every client remain on the same Forge 1.20.1 baseline.
