What does AION 2 cost to start playing?

Membership matters beyond whether you pay to play: NC links it to access to the player-driven economy and currency exchanges. That makes it relevant to players who want to use those systems, even though it is not required to start playing. The global FAQ does not explain the current exchange rules or limits.

Cosmetics and Battle Pass
The global FAQ confirms paid cosmetics and a Battle Pass, but does not say what specific items the global shop offers or what the pass contains. NCSOFT’s September 12, 2025 announcement for Korea and Taiwan named costumes, weapon skins, pets, and wings, and described exchanging in-game currency for premium currency. Is AION 2 pay-to-win?
The official information available does not support a definite “pay-to-win” or “not pay-to-win” verdict. For the global service, NC confirms membership access to economic features, but does not specify item eligibility, exchange limits, combat stats, or effects in competitive modes. The 2025 Korea and Taiwan announcement describes an in-game-to-premium currency exchange for those services, but that alone does not establish the size of any advantage—or prove the same mechanic applies globally. Access to an economy feature or convenience is not, by itself, evidence of direct combat power.

Why older membership details may not match the global service
Service terms have changed over time. In June 2026, NCSOFT reported consolidating memberships into one lower-priced tier and making special-grade costumes and pets shareable server-wide; it also described pet auto-loot as a convenience improvement.
