There is no confirmed Baldur’s Gate 4 developer or release date. Larian Studios officially said in April 2024 that it would not make the sequel. A later report said Wizards of the Coast’s parent company, Hasbro, approached another studio that also passed—but that report is not confirmation that a new game is in production.
What did Larian officially say about Baldur’s Gate 4?
In Community Update #26, published April 17, 2024, Larian Studios said it would not add major narrative content or expansions to Baldur’s Gate 3 and would not make Baldur’s Gate 4. The studio said it intended to pursue its own intellectual property after spending six years in the Forgotten Realms.

That is an official statement about Larian’s plans. It does not rule out another company eventually making a Baldur’s Gate sequel; it means Larian is not the developer announced for one.
Has Wizards of the Coast found another studio?
GameSpot reported in June 2026 that Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast approached Archetype Entertainment after Larian declined, and that Archetype also passed. This is reported information about a studio search, not an official announcement naming a developer. The report does not establish that production has started or that another studio has accepted the project.

Hasbro’s corporate filing describes Baldur’s Gate 3 as a 2023 Dungeons & Dragons role-playing video game made with Larian Studios as its partner. That confirms the predecessor’s partnership, but does not name a studio for a sequel.
Is Warlock the next Baldur’s Gate?
No. Hasbro’s December 2025 announcement describes Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons as a separate project from Invoke Studios, planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox with a 2027 launch plan. The announcement does not identify Warlock as Baldur’s Gate 4.

Likewise, a July 2026 PC Gamer report quoted Larian saying it was not involved in Baldur’s Gate 3-related projects at that time. That should not be read as evidence that Larian is developing a sequel.
