No Battlefield 6 free trial starting tomorrow is confirmed by the available official announcements. The documented trial dates in EA’s announcements have passed, and there is no comparable evidence here that a Battlefield 6 trial has caused Black Ops 7’s numbers to fall.
Is Battlefield 6 free this weekend?
The available EA announcements do not confirm an upcoming free weekend for October 9, 2026. The latest trial dates documented here—August 18–25 and September 15–22, 2026—are both in the past. A previous offer is not evidence of a new one: check EA’s Battlefield 6 page and official announcements for current dates, platform availability, and included content before planning to play.
What the confirmed 2025 trial included
EA announced a Battlefield 6 Season 1 free trial running from November 25, 2025, at 4 a.m. PT (12 p.m. UTC) to December 2, 2025, at the same time. Those are historical dates, not current access terms. EA said the offer had three playlists across three maps and was accessed by downloading the free-to-play Battlefield REDSEC on a preferred platform. REDSEC progress carried into the trial, and progress from the trial carried into the full Battlefield 6 experience if the player purchased the game. See EA’s trial details.
What Battlefield 6’s launch numbers do—and don’t—show
EA reported more than 7 million copies sold in the first three days after Battlefield 6 launched, in an announcement dated October 24, 2025. The publisher also reported more than 172 million online matches and more than 15 million streaming hours during the three-day launch weekend. These are three different measures: sales, match activity, and viewing time. Matches are not unique players, and streaming hours are not player counts. The figures describe launch activity, not the effect of a later free trial. EA’s launch announcement attributes its comments to Battlefield General Manager Byron Beede, who said the team had been “obsessed with player feedback” from the initial concept through Battlefield Labs and the open beta.

Steam’s peak is a different measure
SteamDB records a peak of 747,440 concurrent Battlefield 6 players on Steam on October 10, 2025. That is a third-party, Steam-only peak concurrency figure. It does not count players on console storefronts and cannot be treated as global unique players or copies sold. See the SteamDB chart.
Is Battlefield 6 hurting Black Ops 7’s player numbers?
That causal claim is not established by the figures available here. No reliable like-for-like Black Ops 7 count, sales figure, or measured decline tied to a Battlefield 6 free weekend is provided. A defensible comparison would need the same kind of metric for both games—such as peak concurrent users on the same platform—covering comparable time windows and gathered with the same method. Even a simultaneous decline would not, by itself, prove that one game caused the other to lose players.

What to check before trying or buying the game
- Confirm a current trial announcement and its exact start and end times; don’t rely on old trial dates.
- Check which platforms, maps, and modes are included in that specific offer. EA lists Battlefield 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on its purchase page, but that does not establish trial availability on every platform.
- If considering a purchase, verify the current regional offer and the platform and edition you need. The expired trial should not be treated as a current purchase offer.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
