When was College Football 26 free to play?
There were two separate promotions, with different dates and access terms. EA’s legal disclaimers list a console trial from January 15, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. PT through January 18, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT. EA notes that timing could vary by platform.
Earlier, Xbox Wire announced Free Play Days for August 28–31, 2025. These were limited-time events, not an ongoing free version of the game.
How did the two free-play offers differ?

What did the EA trial require?
EA’s January trial terms required persistent internet access, an EA account, and acceptance of EA’s User Agreement and Privacy & Cookie Policy. The trial could be played once per EA account. EA also said that additional in-game content could be purchased and would remain available in the full game; purchases made during the trial were not refunded when it ended.

Where can you check purchase options?
EA lists PlayStation and Xbox as platforms on its College Football 26 purchase page. PlayStation has a PS5 listing with a PlayStation Store purchase option. These pages are the places to check current availability and terms; the cited information does not establish a current price, sale, stock, or physical-disc availability.
EA also describes EA Play as offering trials for selected new games, access to a collection of EA titles, and a 10% discount on EA digital purchases. That general description does not confirm that College Football 26 is currently included or eligible for a trial through the membership. Check the game’s current listing and membership terms before subscribing for access.
