What The Game Awards rules say about 2026 eligibility
The Game Awards FAQ and rules describes a cutoff for the 2025 awards cycle: titles released after Friday, November 21, 2025, at 9 p.m. PT would be eligible for the 2026 ceremony. The FAQ also says games released in previous years may remain eligible in all categories when they are live-service games and the jury considers their new content, improvements, or service updates meritorious.
Those are two different eligibility routes: release timing against the applicable cutoff, or the stated provision for qualifying ongoing games. The FAQ result available for this question does not confirm Dispatch’s status under either route for the 2026 awards cycle, nor does it establish that Dispatch qualifies as a live-service game under the provision.
Does Dispatch qualify because it was nominated in 2025?
No. Dispatch was among the nominees for Best Debut Indie Game and Players’ Voice at The Game Awards 2025, as shown on the official Best Debut Indie Game nominees and Players’ Voice pages. That confirms recognition in 2025, not eligibility or nomination in 2026.

Eligibility and nomination are separate stages. The FAQ says nominees for most categories are selected by an international jury of media and influencer outlets. Even if a game is eligible, that does not guarantee it will appear on the nominee list.
What Dispatch’s release history establishes
AdHoc Studio describes Dispatch as its debut title and says it released in fall 2025 on its official site. Xbox Wire reported on March 26, 2026, that the game was planned for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC in summer 2026. That was a dated release plan; it does not establish that the Xbox release occurred, or settle the game’s Game Awards eligibility.
The Game Awards has announced its 2026 ceremony for December 10, 2026, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, according to its event announcement. The ceremony date does not determine which release cutoff or eligibility exception applies to Dispatch.

It is accurate to say Dispatch was nominated in two contexts at The Game Awards 2025. It is not currently supported to state as fact that Dispatch is eligible for the 2026 awards, let alone that it will be nominated for a second consecutive year. The available official FAQ does not name the game or confirm its 2026 status, and a current game-specific confirmation from The Game Awards or AdHoc Studio is not established here.
