The “up to five” figure refers to a Manager Career setting that lets players choose additional leagues to simulate alongside their club’s main league. EA’s examples are Spain, Germany, Italy, France and the Netherlands—not a list of new licenses. The exact fan prediction behind the headline is not established by the official sources reviewed.
What EA means by “up to five additional leagues”
When creating a new Manager Career, players can select up to five additional leagues to simulate alongside the league containing their managed club. The setting is part of Career Mode setup; it is not an announcement that five leagues have been newly licensed for FC 26. EA describes the feature in its Career Mode notes.

EA’s example is an English Premier League manager choosing to simulate the top divisions in Spain, Germany, Italy, France and the Netherlands. Those are examples of leagues available for simulation in that scenario, not confirmed new additions to FC 26.
How many leagues does FC 26 have?
EA’s August 28, 2025 announcement describes FC 26 as featuring more than 35 leagues, alongside 20,000+ athletes, 750+ clubs and national teams, and 120+ stadiums. The announcement highlights partnerships and licensing, but it does not name five newly licensed leagues. EA’s September 26, 2025 launch announcement likewise says the game has 35+ leagues. For context, EA described FC 25 as having 30+ leagues in its 2024 announcement. Those rounded totals—30+ and 35+—do not prove that exactly five leagues were added, nor do they identify which leagues account for any change. A difference in a headline total also does not, by itself, distinguish a newly licensed competition from a league already represented in the game or available for Career Mode simulation. EA’s FC 26 league overview lists competitions in the game, but it is not a year-over-year change log.
Which leagues do fans think EA will add?
The exact fan prediction referenced in the headline cannot be verified from the official EA announcements and pages cited here. EA’s five simulation examples should not be presented as fans’ predicted additions: they explain a Career Mode option, not a licensing announcement or fan poll. Without the originating discussion, attributing a particular five-league wish list to fans would be speculation.
