Yes—Galaxy Burger is a strong fit if you want a low-pressure cooking game, particularly in its Zen Shift mode. It removes several familiar sources of kitchen-game stress, including burning food, ingredient costs, rent, impatient customers and chaotic rushes. That supports calling the game relaxing for many players, but it is not a guarantee for everyone or a scientifically measured effect.
What Galaxy Burger is
Galaxy Burger is a cooking simulator by Galactic Workshop, released on Steam on August 23, 2024. You prepare food for mecha cats and aliens, either alone or in online and LAN co-op with up to seven friends—eight players total, including the host. Steam’s store listing presents it as a game about cooking and serving orders.
It has also expanded beyond burger assembly. The developer’s July 2025 My Kitchen update added kitchen-layout customization, sub sandwiches, and the Tabby star system with new ingredients. Layouts persist between shifts, so you can organize equipment and containers around a workflow that suits you. The developer’s Steam announcements describe these additions.
Why Zen Shift can feel relaxing
The strongest reason is a specific selectable mode, rather than the game’s general cooking theme. Galactic Workshop introduced Zen Shift in a November 15, 2025 update for players who want to cook at their own pace. The developer says that ingredients are free, food cannot burn, there is no rent, orders are smaller, and impatient customers and chaotic rushes are removed. It also says recipes, upgrades, and other content unlock faster in this mode. The update announcement calls Zen Shift a way to “chill out and cook at your own pace.”

Those changes remove several common pressures from cooking games: the cost of experimenting, the penalty for leaving food too long, and the sense that a growing queue is about to get away from you. Zen Shift is therefore the clearest choice if you want to practice recipes or serve orders without those particular demands.
The developer lists Regular, Zen, and Endless modes, giving players options beyond Zen Shift. My Kitchen’s saved layouts also let you arrange a more comfortable station instead of adapting to a fixed kitchen. These options support control over pace and setup, although they do not establish that every mode plays the same way or feels equally calm.

What players say—and what that does not prove
Some Steam reviewers describe Galaxy Burger as a “chill burger cooking game” or “stress free,” and praise being able to take orders at their own pace. One reviewer appreciated not seeing an apparent customer patience meter. These are individual impressions, not a systematic measure of how players respond, and they cannot establish a clinical stress-reduction benefit. Steam user reviews are useful for understanding player sentiment, not for proving a universal effect.
When it may feel less relaxing
Relaxation depends on the player and the way they play. Co-op supports up to eight people, but a social session with friends may have a different pace from playing alone in Zen Shift. The available descriptions do not establish that co-op and solo play offer identical conditions, so choose your group and mode with the experience you want in mind.

One Steam reviewer reported wrist strain after playing for five hours straight and wished for more keyboard shortcuts. That is a single player’s account, not evidence of a general ergonomic or accessibility problem. Still, if long sessions bother your wrists, take breaks and adjust your play time rather than assuming a low-pressure game makes marathon sessions comfortable. If you are comparing cooking games, focus on the mechanics that create pressure rather than relying on labels such as “relaxing.” Check whether orders have deadlines or patience meters, whether ingredients can burn, how much control you have over the shift’s pace, and whether solo and co-op are available. Galaxy Burger’s Zen Shift directly addresses several of those pressure points; its co-op option may suit a different, more social kind of play.
