Launch it through a supported PC launcher
Ubisoft lists Epic Games Launcher and Ubisoft Connect PC for trial access. Availability can vary by region, so look for the trial in the relevant launcher rather than relying on an old event announcement.
Track the trial timer and carry over progress
The trial allows up to six hours. Ubisoft says progress is retained if you buy the full game or accept a Friend Pass after the timer runs out. The trial does not support additional content such as Ghost Coins or the Year 1 Pass.

Can you keep the full game for free?
The identified offers do not show that you can claim and keep the full game for free. The trial provides limited play time, and the reported anniversary event was a temporary free-play weekend. For continued access, Ubisoft lists the PC game as a paid product; it also lists Standard, Gold, Ultimate, and Wolves Collector’s Edition options, with contents and availability depending on platform and format.
