No. As of October 8, 2026, Hogwarts Legacy is not free to claim through the Epic Games Store giveaway. That offer ended on December 18, 2025, at 11 AM ET. If you claimed it before the deadline, check the library on the Epic account you used; if you missed it, look for a new offer or compare current storefront options.
When did the Hogwarts Legacy giveaway end?
Epic Games announced on December 11, 2025 that “Hogwarts Legacy is free on the Epic Games Store now through December 18 at 11 AM ET as part of the Epic Games Store Holiday Sale.” The deadline has passed. It was a limited-time free-to-keep giveaway, not a permanent conversion of the game to a free-to-play title. Read Epic’s announcement.

How to find the game if you claimed it
- Sign in to the Epic Games account you used when claiming Hogwarts Legacy.
- Open that account’s Library and look for the game. A claim made during the offer window should be associated with that account.
Epic says free promotions have a limited duration and a game must be claimed within its stated period to be added to a library. See Epic’s guidance on missed free offers.
What to do if you missed the offer
The expired promotion cannot be claimed retroactively. Epic recommends watching for future free promotions and special offers. Its Free Games page is the official place to check current giveaways.

Warner Bros. lists PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC as platform options. Availability, edition, price, and sale timing depend on your region and storefront; check the local listing before buying. See Warner Bros.’ platform and purchase page.
- Epic Games Store: The official listing describes Hogwarts Legacy as an open-world action RPG developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games. When checked on October 8, 2026, it showed a paid base-game listing localized to Japanese yen, so that price should not be treated as universal. Check the Epic listing.
- Steam: The US storefront displayed the base game for $5.99, reduced from $59.99, when checked on October 8, 2026. This was a limited-time sale snapshot; the price and sale end date can change. Check Steam’s listing.
- PlayStation Store: The US PS5 listing displayed $69.99 and catalog access through PlayStation Plus Extra when checked on October 8, 2026. Subscription availability and pricing can differ by region and change. Check the US PlayStation listing.
These storefront snapshots do not establish a universally cheapest platform. Compare the edition and current local price, and distinguish a permanent purchase from access through a subscription catalog.
