Silver Pines has a free Steam demo, but the full survival-horror game is a separate release scheduled for October 8, 2026. The “10/10” and “GOTY contender” wording is not backed by a verified full-game rating: Steam showed no user reviews for the game on October 7, 2026.
What is Silver Pines?
Silver Pines is a survival-horror metroidvania developed by Wych Elm and published by Team17. You play private investigator Red Walker, who goes to the near-abandoned town of Silver Pines to find missing musician Eddie Velvet. The investigation draws him into the town’s troubled past and a nightmarish mystery, according to the official game site and the Steam listing.
The game is presented in 2.5D, with hand-drawn and rotoscoped animation and a neo-noir look. Its listed features include puzzle solving, locked doors and hidden paths, limited inventory space, and scarce ammunition, medicine, and upgrades. Players can choose to fight or evade monsters.
Is the Silver Pines demo free?
Yes. The free offer is a downloadable Steam demo, not the complete game. The demo is listed on the Steam page and linked from the official site. Demo availability can change, so check the store listing for the current option.

When does the full game come out, and what does it cost?
Steam listed the full release for October 8, 2026, on PC and consoles. The listed US Steam base price was $24.99 when checked on October 7, 2026, with a time-limited preorder offer of $22.49. Those are store and region-specific prices that can change; check the listing for current availability and pricing.
Steam also listed a Deluxe Edition containing the game, an artbook, and the official soundtrack. The listing does not say whether the artbook or soundtrack is physical, so do not assume the edition includes printed or disc-based items.

- BOOKENDS SUPPORT: These book ends are crafted from wood with a heavy, sturdy metal base. The rounded edges neither scratch your fingers nor your book
- NON-SLIP FOAM PAD: Each bookend features non-slip foam pads on the bottom that prevent unwanted sliding while also shielding your desk or bookshelf surface from scratches when you move
- SAVE MORE SPACE: The L-shaped design gives you more space for books on your shelf because it can go right at the edge of the shelf. Works well for organizing books, magazines, movies, DVDs, vinyl records, video games, and anything else you want to stand up
- DECORATIVE BOOKENDS: These wooden bookends for shelves feature a variety of pattern options to suit different needs—ideal for library, office, school, and home organization
- THOUGHTFUL GIFTS: Package includes 1 pair of bookends. An ideal gifts for book lovers, teachers, students, librarians, and colleagues on birthdays, holidays, or housewarmings
Does “Twin Peaks meets Resident Evil” describe the game?
It works as a shorthand for a small-town mystery combined with survival horror, but it is not an official equivalence or evidence of a connection to either franchise. The supported comparison is about atmosphere and broad genre elements; Silver Pines has its own investigator, town, and story.
One Steam demo reviewer, Bene Kenobi, described the atmosphere positively and said it scratched the itch for a Twin Peaks fan. That is one player’s impression, not a critic consensus or a statement from the developers. The game’s listed survival mechanics—scarce supplies, puzzles, and a choice to fight or evade—are more useful indicators of what playing it may involve than the headline comparison.

Is Silver Pines really a 10/10 or a GOTY contender?
Those claims are not established by the available rating data. Steam showed no user reviews for the full game on October 7, 2026, the day before its listed release. The headline’s 10/10 and “GOTY contender” language should therefore be read as promotional framing, not a verified score, review consensus, or award prediction.
