They are separate entitlements for most new purchases, although some older pledges include both. Check the contents of your specific pledge in My Hangar before buying or assuming you own the campaign.
Does a Star Citizen package include Squadron 42?
Not by default. RSI distinguishes a Star Citizen Game Package, which grants access to Star Citizen and includes a ship, from a Squadron 42 pledge for the single-player campaign. A package includes Squadron 42 only if its listed contents explicitly say so. RSI’s Pledges FAQ explains how packages and pledge contents work.

Why some older pledges include both games
RSI announced a split between the persistent-universe game and the single-player campaign in 2016. The change applied to new purchases after February 14, 2016; qualifying earlier backer pledges and Squadron 42 packages could include both modules. That history is why two players may have different entitlements despite having bought a Star Citizen package. See RSI’s 2016 package-split announcement.

- Sign in to your RSI account and open My Hangar.
- Find the relevant pledge and expand its item list if it contains multiple items.
- Look for Squadron 42 among the listed contents. Do not infer ownership from the package name or the ship alone.
RSI says package contents can be inspected in My Hangar. It also notes that ships cannot be split from a game or ship package, so you cannot treat bundled pledge items as freely rearrangeable. See the Pledges FAQ.

Checkout add-on with a qualifying game package
RSI says a discounted Squadron 42 add-on may appear during checkout with a qualifying game package. It must be selected before completing the order.
