As of October 3, 2026, there is not enough verified post-release evidence to give Star Wars: Galactic Racer a gameplay-quality verdict: its announced launch is October 6. The practical decision for now is whether the confirmed edition extras are worth their price to you. US digital listings show Standard at $59.99 and Deluxe at $79.99; choose Standard unless Deluxe’s extra vehicles, events, cosmetics, and art book appeal to you.
What is Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and when does it launch?
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is presented as a runs-based racing game set in an underground Galactic League after the fall of the Empire. You play as Shade and race landspeeders, speeder bikes, skim speeders, and podracers, with a solo story campaign and PvP advertised in the official listings. The announced worldwide launch date is October 6, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. StarWars.com and the platform listings for Xbox and Steam give the date.
Those are feature descriptions, not proof of how the handling feels, how long the campaign lasts, how balanced PvP is, or how active online play will be. If those qualities are central to your decision, wait for properly dated reviews or post-launch player reports rather than treating the announced features as a quality verdict.
Which edition should you buy?
The US Xbox and Steam digital listings observed on October 3, 2026 show Standard at $59.99 and Deluxe at $79.99. Prices are regional storefront listings and may change; check your local store before purchasing. The official site describes the physical Collector’s Edition, but a price was not verified there. Xbox, Steam, and the official game site list the editions and contents.

Deluxe is primarily extra vehicles, events, cosmetics, and an art book; the Collector’s Edition adds physical display and print items. The official announcement says Deluxe content can also be bought as a launch Deluxe Upgrade DLC, so Standard does not necessarily prevent a later upgrade. Pay extra only for items you specifically value. The official game site details the contents and upgrade.
Is it a good fit for the kind of racing you want?
If you want racing first
The promised mix of repulsorcraft, a runs-based structure, campaign progression, and PvP may fit if those concepts appeal to you. They do not establish handling quality, progression depth, campaign length, or online balance. For a purchase driven by gameplay quality rather than the Star Wars setting or edition extras, wait for evidence from after launch.
