Kay is trying to secure her freedom and a new life after a heist goes wrong. Her companion Nix and the criminal syndicates Kay deals with are central to the premise. The setup is about stealing, infiltrating, taking risks and managing relationships; describing it this way does not require giving away later story events.

The base game follows Kay’s story between Episodes V and VI. Ubisoft identifies Wild Card and A Pirate’s Fortune as story packs included in the season pass. In A Pirate’s Fortune, Kay and Nix embark on an adventure involving Hondo Ohnaka, pirate treasure and the Khepi system. Ubisoft says you must complete the base game’s main storyline before starting that pack. It is included with the season pass or can be purchased separately. Ubisoft also lists the Jabba’s Gambit Day 1 mission, the Kessel Runner character pack, Hunter’s Legacy and Cartel Ronin cosmetic bundles among season-pass content. Do not assume a particular edition includes these items: edition names, bundles and regional offerings can differ, so check the specific platform-store listing before buying.

The demo is especially useful here because the deciding question is likely whether the Star Wars setting and familiar open-world loop work for you—not whether the game introduces a radically different genre formula.
How does it perform on Switch 2?
TechRadar’s Nintendo Switch 2 Gold Edition review, first published in January 2026, reports a 30 fps target that it says is generally maintained. The reviewer notes rare stutters during intense action and unexpected crashes in early long sessions, which they said appeared to have been remedied by patches. These are observations about the reviewed Switch 2 version, not evidence of performance on PC, PS5 or Xbox.
