StreamYard can start an uploaded video at a chosen time and stop when it finishes. Its documented prerecorded-stream feature does not establish automatic repeat playback, and each plan caps the length of one prerecorded broadcast. For a channel that needs a video to repeat continuously, StreamYard alone is not a documented fit.
What StreamYard does with a prerecorded video
In StreamYard, you upload a video or select an existing recording, choose a destination and a date and time, then create the broadcast. StreamYard says it starts automatically at the scheduled time and ends when playback finishes. That supports a recurring daily schedule of separate broadcasts, but the documentation does not describe a setting to restart the video automatically or keep one stream running as a continuous loop. See StreamYard’s prerecorded streaming instructions.
The plan limits below are for the maximum length of one prerecorded video stream—not an assurance that the service will repeat it or run it continuously.
| Plan | Maximum prerecorded video length | Prerecorded streams schedulable at once | File-size limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Core | 2 hours | 5 | 10 GB |
| Advanced | 4 hours | 10 | 10 GB |
| Teams | 8 hours | Unlimited | 25 GB |
| Business | 8 hours | Unlimited | 25 GB |
StreamYard says scheduling can be up to 365 days ahead. Prerecorded streaming is not available on its Free plan. The feature supports MP4 files with H.264 video, up to 1080p, and an upload bitrate of no more than 10 Mbps. Check the current plan details before subscribing, since feature availability and limits can change.

When it may be worth paying
A good fit for scheduled daily broadcasts
StreamYard is more plausible if your goal is to schedule a daily prerecorded broadcast that starts without you being present, the video stays within your plan’s cap, and a livestream presentation is useful to your channel. You can schedule more than one broadcast ahead, rather than manually starting each one.
A poor fit for a continuous loop or a normal upload
If you need one video to repeat indefinitely, or a single stream to keep playing beyond the applicable prerecorded-video limit, the documented feature does not meet that requirement by itself. If you simply want viewers to watch a video on demand, uploading a normal YouTube video may be more appropriate than paying for a scheduled livestream. StreamYard’s published help material consulted here does not state current prices; check the checkout for the price and billing period available to you before deciding.

Keep streaming, recording, and archiving separate
StreamYard says paid plans have no StreamYard-side limit on how long a stream can run, but that broad statement does not remove the separate constraints on prerecorded uploads, StreamYard recordings, or destination archiving. Its storage guidance gives a maximum of 10 hours per live-stream recording on Core, Advanced, and Teams, and 24 hours on Business. Default storage is 5 hours on Free, 50 hours on Core, Advanced, and Teams, and 700+ hours on Business. If storage is full, StreamYard says a broadcast can continue, but it will not record new streams there until space is freed or increased. Details are in the prerecorded-stream guide and StreamYard’s storage guidance.
YouTube’s archive behavior is a third, independent limit: its help page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a longer broadcast will be archived automatically, or treat YouTube’s archive as the same thing as a StreamYard cloud recording. If you need a retained copy, decide where the canonical archive will live and check that service’s limits. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance.

Check YouTube access, rights, and monetization before scheduling
Confirm live streaming is enabled
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days to live stream. After verification, first-time live-streaming access can take up to 24 hours to become available. StreamYard’s YouTube connection guide says it can stream through a desktop workflow without the YouTube mobile-app subscriber requirement; that is not an exemption from YouTube’s other live-streaming requirements. See YouTube’s live-stream setup requirements and StreamYard’s prerecorded-stream guide.
Use material you have the rights to broadcast
You are responsible for having the necessary rights to the video and audio in both the live broadcast and its archive, including applicable music rights. A track that is available for personal listening is not automatically cleared for a public livestream. YouTube’s livestream terms require compliance with its Community Guidelines and the necessary rights to the live content.

Repetition can matter for monetization
YouTube’s monetization policy applies to livestreams and expects monetized content to be original and authentic. A recurring format is not, by itself, identified as disqualifying; however, repetitive or mass-produced material with little variation or viewer value can put monetization eligibility at risk. YouTube clarified its policy language on July 15, 2025, including the term “inauthentic content.” Consider whether each scheduled broadcast offers viewers meaningful original, educational, creative, or other value. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policies.
