No—the $29 offer in this headline was a one-day Woot promotion on December 13, 2024, not a confirmed deal for October 8, 2026. It was for a three-month digital code and required the checkout code GAMEPASS to take $5 off the $34 price, before tax. The offer was reported to end that day, with one coupon use per customer. Engadget’s December 13, 2024 report does not establish that the code or price is still valid.
What was the $29 offer?
Woot’s promotion covered a three-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate digital code. The reported price started at $34; entering GAMEPASS at checkout reduced it by $5 to $29 before tax. Engadget reported that the offer ended at the end of December 13, 2024, and that the coupon could be used once per customer. These are details of that historical promotion, not a current checkout offer.
Can you still use GAMEPASS?
The available deal report does not confirm that GAMEPASS remains active or that Woot, or another seller, currently offers three months of Ultimate for $29. Check the seller’s live product listing and checkout before buying; confirm the price, region, redemption requirements, expiration, and any customer-use limit there. Do not rely on the old code as a current discount.
What does Game Pass Ultimate include?
Xbox’s official plan page currently describes Ultimate as including 500+ games for console, PC, and supported devices, new games on day one, EA Play, Fortnite Crew, Ubisoft+ Classics, online console multiplayer, and 15 cloud gaming hours per month. Xbox notes that games, features, and availability vary by region, plan, and platform. Check Xbox’s Game Pass page for current plan details and local terms.

How does automatic renewal work?
Xbox says subscriptions continue automatically. Recurring billing is on by default, and a promotion may renew at the then-current regular price unless you cancel. Promotional eligibility and terms can vary: offers may be restricted to new subscribers or particular regions and may require a credit card. Review the terms shown for your account before redeeming, and check your Microsoft account’s subscription settings if you want to turn off recurring billing.
Cloud gaming hours: a change announced for November 2026
On September 3, 2026, Xbox Wire announced that monthly cloud gaming limits would change beginning in November: 15 hours for Ultimate, 10 for Premium, and five for Essential. Xbox estimated that the change would affect 4% of subscribers. As of October 8, 2026, this was an announced future change, not an October limit already in effect. See Xbox Wire’s announcement for the timing and details.
