No official source confirms that the Savali catacombs door bug in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has been fixed, and none names it as currently being worked on. The official patch notes and support notices checked for this article do not mention this problem at all. The accurate status is “not confirmed,” not “fixed” and not “being addressed.” Below is the door most likely involved, the intended way to open it, what the official record does and does not show, and what to try if you are stuck.
Which door this problem most likely involves
The door most often linked to this issue is the third Gold Bolt door in the catacombs, reached on the later Savali visit. A 2021 GameSpot walkthrough for the game’s Gold Bolt locations describes the intended way through it: use Glitch on the infected terminal to open the door. If you are not at this specific door, the rest of this article does not apply to you.

- Confirm you are on the later Savali visit and inside the catacombs, not at an earlier stage of the level.
- Find the third Gold Bolt door, the one associated with the catacombs Gold Bolt.
- Walk to the infected terminal beside it and use Glitch on the terminal.
- Expected result: the door opens and the Gold Bolt becomes reachable. If the terminal does not respond, or the door stays in a state that does not match this sequence, you are likely facing the reported problem.
Is the Savali door bug fixed or being addressed?
Nothing the sources checked confirms either. The three places a reader would look each tell a different part of the story.
Official Steam patch history
The official Steam announcements for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart list bug fixes and improvements for the PC version. A September 2023 entry names fixes for frame pacing, visual artifacts, controller support and other issues, but it does not mention the Savali catacombs door. Later entries checked also do not identify it. That absence is not proof the problem was never fixed, because a patch list only records what its authors chose to name.

Insomniac support notice
Insomniac Games Support published “Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart PC Support Has Moved” on March 19, 2026. It says PC support now sits with Nixxes Software, using this wording: “In order to better serve everyone, we have moved PC support for this title over to our friends at Nixxes Software.” The notice is an official support document rather than a quote from a named person. No named developer statement addressing this door was found.
Player reports
A 2021 post on r/InsomniacGames, titled “Ratchet and clank bug blocking gold bolt,” describes a Gold Bolt becoming inaccessible after a Glitch sequence appeared to count as completed in the wrong place. It is a single anecdotal account. It does not show how often this happens, give reliable reproduction steps, or prove that your problem is the same one.

PC and PS5 support
The two platforms are not documented the same way, so do not assume a PC fix applies to PlayStation 5 or the reverse.

If the door will not open
Work through these checks in order, and keep notes as you go.

- Confirm the location. Make sure you are at the third Gold Bolt door in the catacombs on the later Savali visit.
- Try the intended interaction once more. Use Glitch on the infected terminal beside the door and note whether the terminal responds.
- Record your platform and version. Write down whether you play on PC or PS5 and the game version shown on your platform’s game information screen.
- Record your mission state. Note where you are in the level and what the door and terminal look like.
- Capture a short clip. A brief video of the terminal and door is the most useful evidence for a support report.
- Contact support. On PC, use the support route linked from Insomniac’s March 19, 2026 notice, which now points to Nixxes Software. For PS5, the support contact was not established by the sources checked, so use your PlayStation account’s standard support channels.
None of the sources checked show that restarting the game, reloading a save, reinstalling, changing hardware or running a PC utility clears this door. Treat those steps as unverified for this problem.
The game is available on PS5 and on PC through Steam, where the official store listing confirms the PC release.
