Nintendo also lists a version bundled with a display stand. Its official materials do not document different controls, internal hardware, or performance, so those differences are unconfirmed.
What is different about the Zelda edition?
Triforce design
Nintendo describes the Zelda 40th Anniversary edition as a special-design Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller featuring a Triforce design. That is the confirmed edition-specific difference. Nintendo of America’s announcement and Nintendo’s Japanese corporate release identify the design and October 29, 2026 release date.
Optional display stand
Nintendo lists the Zelda controller on its own and in a separate bundle with a display stand. The stand is an included accessory in that bundle, not a stated controller upgrade; Nintendo does not say it changes how the controller works.
How much does it cost?
Nintendo Store US listings accessed October 7, 2026 show these US list prices:

The Zelda controller-only edition is $10 more than the standard model on those US listings; the stand bundle is $20 more. Prices and availability can change. Nintendo’s Japanese corporate release separately gives a suggested retail price of ¥12,980 including tax for the Japanese edition; that is a different market and tax basis, so it should not be directly compared with the US prices. Are the buttons or performance different?
Nintendo’s published materials reviewed for this comparison do not state that the Zelda edition has different controls, internal hardware, or performance from the standard Switch 2 Pro Controller. That means an edition-specific functional difference is unconfirmed; it does not establish that the internals are identical.

Nintendo Support describes the features of the Switch 2 Pro Controller family: a C Button for opening the GameChat menu, freely mappable GL/GR buttons, and an audio jack for headphones and headsets. These are documented as family features, not as additions unique to the Zelda edition. Nintendo also says the Switch 2 Pro Controller works only with Nintendo Switch 2, not the original Switch. - Choose the standard controller if you want the lower-priced option and do not need the Zelda design.
- Choose the Zelda controller by itself if the Triforce design is worth the listed $10 premium over the standard US model.
- Choose the stand bundle if you also want the included display stand; its listed US price is $20 above the standard controller.
Nintendo announced October 29, 2026 as the release date for the Zelda controller products. As of October 7, 2026, that date is still ahead. Confirm the date and current availability with Nintendo before ordering.
