If you want cyberpunk role-playing in a different format, The Ascent adds co-op action-shooter combat and RPG progression, while Shadowrun Returns trades free-roaming exploration for turn-based tactical play in a cyberpunk-meets-fantasy setting.

Cyberpunk 2077 is the first game to consider if your priority is a cyberpunk setting combined with open-world exploration and RPG structure. Its official descriptions identify it as an open-world role-playing game set in Night City, making it a closer fit for this specific request than games that share only the setting or role-playing elements.
Choose it for a city-based action RPG rather than a turn-based tactical game or a co-op-focused shooter. The official Cyberpunk franchise site also features a board game and a trading card game; those extend the setting but are not video-game substitutes for this recommendation.

The Ascent: action-shooter RPG with co-op
The Ascent combines a cyberpunk setting with RPG progression and district exploration. Its official page highlights cyberware customization, skill points, augmentations, and loot. It supports solo or co-op play, so it is a useful alternative if you want to play with others or prefer an action-shooter presentation. Its districts and shooter format make it a different proposition from a first-person open-world RPG.
