If you can’t sign in or have lost your account
Use Steam’s account recovery flow, even if you no longer know the account email address, password, or phone number. If automated recovery cannot restore access, the flow can present an intake form for Steam Support. Include as much information that helps establish ownership as you can.
What the phone number on your account is for
A number registered to your Steam account supports security and recovery—for example, SMS password resets and transferring the Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator. It is not a number to call for customer support. See Steam’s Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator guidance.

Watch out for fake Steam support agents
Steam says account support conversations take place through the Steam Support Help Site. Be wary of anyone claiming you must contact an agent through Steam Chat, Discord, or another chat service. Don’t share your password or authenticator codes with someone who approaches you there; instead, open the Help Site directly and use its account-support options. Steam also warns about scam messages claiming your account has been reported or will be banned.
If you see an unrecognized Steam charge
Use the Help Site’s Unrecognized Charges flow so Steam can identify the transaction. Provide the details it requests, but never include your full card number, expiration date, or CVV in a support ticket; Steam says it will not ask for those details there.
