That means there is no confirmed start time or basis for a countdown clock, and no October 8 game lineup to preview. Sony’s latest verified announcement in those sources was for two broadcasts on September 3; their schedule and content are historical, not today’s.
Is there a State of Play today?
No October 8 broadcast is confirmed by the official PlayStation material checked for this article. The PlayStation.Blog feed showed recent posts through October 7, while the latest State of Play announcement located was published August 31 for the September 3 broadcasts. A visible feed is not proof that Sony could not make a later announcement elsewhere, so check Sony’s official channels for any new notice.
Without a confirmed start time, a countdown would be misleading. If Sony announces a show, use the date, time zone, and viewing information in that announcement rather than assuming the event follows a regular schedule.
What time did the latest verified State of Play start?
The September 3, 2026 schedule was 6:00 a.m. PT, 9:00 a.m. ET, 3:00 p.m. CEST, and 10:00 p.m. JST. These are the historical times for that date, not an October 8 schedule. Sony has used different start times for different broadcasts: its February 2026 announcement listed 2:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. ET / 11:00 p.m. CEST on February 12, and 7:00 a.m. JST on February 13. Sony’s September announcement and February announcement give the date-specific schedules.

Where can I watch a State of Play?
For the September 3 broadcasts, Sony listed YouTube and Twitch. Those platforms are confirmed for that event; check the announcement for any future broadcast’s official viewing links rather than assuming its platform details.
Sony also warned that licensed music outside its control could affect co-streams and video-on-demand archives for the September broadcasts. It advised creators making VOD recaps or reposting segments to omit copyrighted music. That guidance applied to those broadcasts; consult a future event’s own notice for applicable creator guidance.

What should you expect from a future show?
There is no verified October 8 preview or lineup in the official material checked. Sony’s past broadcasts have varied in timing, length, and focus: the February 2026 announcement described a 60-plus-minute program spotlighting third-party and indie PS5 games alongside PlayStation Studios updates, while the September broadcasts had a different format and regional focus.
