EA Support may be able to combine two EA Accounts after reviewing them, but you must normally have access to both accounts, and EA warns that game progress and other content may not transfer. Do not unlink a PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Epic account before EA reviews your situation.
What “merging EA Accounts” can mean
Players often use “merge” to describe different problems:
- Games are split between two EA Accounts: Contact EA Support and ask whether the accounts can be combined. The result is case-specific.
- The wrong platform account is linked: This may require recovering the original EA Account or carefully unlinking and relinking a platform account.
- Progress is split between accounts: This is the riskiest situation. Progress is often associated with the EA Account, and EA does not guarantee that progress can be combined.
- You created an accidental second account: If the games and progress are all on the original account, changing the email address on the second account may be more appropriate than merging the libraries.
- A game has its own progression rules: Apex Legends, EA SPORTS FC, and other titles may handle progression separately from the general EA Account system.
EA’s official guidance says that account combination is not always possible, and that users cannot move games or platform accounts between EA Accounts themselves.
Do not use unlinking as a merge shortcut
Unlinking a platform account is not the same as merging EA Accounts. EA warns that unlinking may remove access to:

- Game progress
- DLC and expansions
- Memberships and subscriptions
- In-game purchases and premium currency
- Rewards, drops, items, or personas
For Steam in particular, EA says entitlements such as rewards, points, and items remain on the EA Account to which the Steam account was originally linked. Connecting Steam to another EA Account does not automatically move that content.
Relinking may also be restricted. EA’s guidance describes a general restriction that can last six months after a platform is connected to a new EA Account, while its current Steam guidance refers to a previous link being more than 12 months old before relinking to a different Steam account. The applicable restriction depends on the platform and linking history.
Read EA’s unlinking guidance before taking any action.
Identify the right solution first

| The wrong PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, or Epic account is linked | Try account recovery first, then ask EA about the consequences of relinking. |
| You cannot access one EA Account | Use account recovery and provide ownership information; do not delete or abandon the account. |
| Apex Legends progress is split between EA Accounts | EA says progress from two separate EA Accounts cannot be merged. |
| A Steam account is linked to the wrong EA Account | Treat unlinking as high risk because Steam entitlements remain tied to the original EA Account. |
How to ask EA Support for a merge review
- Stop making account changes. Do not unlink platforms, delete an account, or create a third EA Account.
- Sign in to both EA Accounts if possible.
- Open each account’s Connected Accounts section and record the linked platforms.
- Decide which account you want to retain as the primary account.
- Gather the games, progress, DLC, subscriptions, purchases, premium currency, and rewards associated with each account.
- Collect both email addresses, PlayStation Network online IDs, Xbox gamertags, Steam or Epic account details, Nintendo account information where relevant, invoice numbers, and product codes.
- Go to the official EA Help site, select the relevant game or account category, and contact EA Support.
- Explain that you have two EA Accounts and want EA to review them for a possible combination. Clearly identify the account you want to keep as primary.
- Ask EA to confirm exactly what will and will not transfer before authorizing an unlink, relink, or account change.
EA recommends having account email addresses, connected usernames or console IDs, and invoice numbers or product codes available for account-linking support.

What may transfer—and what may not
There is no general promise that a successful account combination will consolidate everything. EA Support may review game licenses, platform connections, and account records individually. Depending on the accounts and games involved:
- Some game entitlements may be reviewed for combination.
- A platform account may be moved to the selected EA Account if EA permits it.
- Progress from two EA Accounts may remain separate or be unavailable for transfer.
- DLC, expansions, subscriptions, rewards, premium currency, and in-game purchases may remain attached to the original account.
- Game-specific personas and profiles may not combine.
- Restrictions, suspensions, or bans may affect eligibility.
Only EA Support can confirm the outcome for the specific accounts. Do not assume that a purchase follows the console, PC launcher, or platform account independently of the EA Account.
Apex Legends: separate EA Accounts cannot be combined
Apex Legends requires particular caution. EA says Apex progress and content are associated with the EA Account. Unlinking a platform account can remove access to that progress and content; reconnecting it to the original EA Account may restore access, but linking it to a different EA Account will not bring the old progress with it.
Apex cross-progression is not the same as merging EA Accounts. It can consolidate supported platform progress connected to the same EA Account, but EA explicitly says it cannot merge Apex Legends progress from two separate EA Accounts. EA also says cross-progression occurs only once and includes content from accounts linked at the time of the merge; content unlinked beforehand may not be recoverable. Important restrictions
Bans
EA states that games cannot be transferred if either account has a platform, game, or whole-account ban. A ban may therefore prevent the requested combination or transfer.
Child and adult accounts
Age-rating rules can block transfers between child and adult accounts. EA states that games rated PEGI 16, PEGI 18, or ESRB M cannot be moved to a child account. A game also cannot be moved from a child account to an adult account if a child will be playing it; it must remain on the child account.
One platform may have its own limits
EA supports linking multiple permitted platforms to an EA Account, but not every combination is allowed. For example, EA says one EA Account cannot be linked to two PlayStation Network IDs. If you want to use an additional platform identity, a separate EA Account may be necessary.

Account recovery should come before unlinking. Try the recovery options associated with the old email address and use the game or platform sign-in flow where available. When contacting EA, provide the previous email address, former display name, connected platform IDs, purchase receipts, invoice numbers, product codes, and any other ownership information EA requests.

Deleting the unwanted account is not a merge method. It does not guarantee that games, purchases, or progress will move and may make verification or recovery more difficult.
If EA cannot merge the accounts
Keep the account containing the progress and content you value most. Recover access to the other account, change email addresses to make the accounts easier to distinguish, and leave platform links attached to the account containing the relevant game data. Avoid repeatedly unlinking and relinking platforms, since doing so can trigger waiting periods or permanent loss of access to content.
Use only official EA Help for this process. Third-party services claiming to merge or recover EA Accounts independently need access to sensitive credentials and cannot override EA’s account, platform, or entitlement rules.
