The confusion is understandable: Ubisoft calls The Crew Motorfest the franchise’s third entry. Motorfest is receiving Year 4 content, but that does not confirm or rule out a separately titled sequel.
Has Ubisoft announced The Crew 3?
No separate The Crew 3 announcement or release date appears in the official Ubisoft sources reviewed as of October 8, 2026. That means a sequel’s public status is unconfirmed—not that Ubisoft has cancelled it or will never make one.

Ubisoft introduced The Crew Motorfest in January 2023 as “the next game in The Crew franchise.” In December 2023, the company explicitly described it as “the third entry of the franchise.” Its official title is The Crew Motorfest, not The Crew 3.
So when players use “The Crew 3” to mean the franchise’s third game, they are generally referring to Motorfest. Ubisoft has not announced a different, separately titled game by that name.

Why do people call Motorfest The Crew 3?
The numbering comes from Ubisoft’s own description of Motorfest as the franchise’s third entry. The publisher’s December 14, 2023 statement says: “Nine years later, the third entry of the franchise is live with The Crew Motorfest, bringing Hawaii to our players.” Ubisoft attributed the statement to “The Ubisoft Ivory Tower team,” not to a named individual.
That makes “The Crew 3” understandable as informal shorthand for Motorfest’s place in the series. It should not be mistaken for the announced title of another game.

What does Ubisoft’s player data tell us?
Ubisoft reported on October 30, 2024, that 6 million new players joined the franchise during September 2024. The company also cited more than 2 million active players per month for The Crew 2 in a December 2023 article. These are dated figures, not current 2026 player counts, and neither confirms a future sequel.
